Hello,
After I spent some days by the seashore I started experiencing issues with my Charge 4. I don't swim but I did took baths wearing my Charge 4. Maybe sand got in... I don't know.
First my Charge 4 died suddenly - just black screen. I tried to recharge it but it would not recharge.... so the rest of my vacation I just did not wear it.
After I went home, I recharged again and it appeared to have started working again but with a lot of issues:
- the app does not sync when dragging down on the dashboard. It only syncs when I go to Account -> Charge 4 -> Sync now.
- even if the app syncs with the device some information is not correct: for example the counters did not reset today - it just counts on. Sometimes the pace counter just does not work.
- the device/ app does not show me the sleep data anymore - which is for me the most important feature
- the screen does not light up when I turn my hand. On the quick menu (pressing a few secs on the button) Screen Wake is selected already.
Should I give up on the device or is there anything I could do? Previously I had a Charge 2 for 4+ years and besides the wrist band breaking I had no issues. The Charge 4 is pretty new - I've been using it for around 1 year.
P.S. I already reset the device while charging by pressing 8 secs and I reinstalled the Fitbit app.

Since then, I restarted and fully charged the device again. Somehow it looks like it's working again, 2 days with no hiccups. Even screen wake works now ... For now I consider the matter closed.

Mine's messed up too, nothing to do with it getting wet, I never take it near water (even though I live 500m from the beach) because I heard too many horror stories about Fitbits not being remotely water resistant.
My Charge 4 stopped syncing, and steps have disappeared from app but keep counting on tracker. The Windows10 app really sucks too and Fitbit support doesn't care. Weekly activity stopped updating on tracker, but updates on both PC and mobile app. This all started about 4 days ago.
If it craps out I'm switching brands.

I'm glad your Charge 4 is working again. Mine's NFG. Not syncing, daily activity not updating. Sleep and steps gone from phone and laptop apps. Phone app showing Cals, #days exercise (not updating), weight and water ONLY. Tracker showing total daily steps, # hrs active, cardio mins, HR & resting,
distance, cals burned, stairs, sleep (not updating) Sp02, weight lost, water (not updating), weekly # days activity is gone now, last week it was stuck on 1 of 7. What a piece of crap company, support is terrible. I don't want to reboot it, because the Charge 4 is at least tracking a few things properly. If I reinstall apps or factory reboot charger it may never work properly again. I'm shopping for better fitness trackers than Fitbits.
