Charge 4 Alarms Not Working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've have 2 daily alarms set on the Charge 4 and there have been multiple occasions that the alarms do not go off. Also, when I select the alarm app on the Charge 4, it freezes and restarts. My FitBit Android app is updated and I have restarted the Charge 4 multiple times. Please fix this!

Hi @ctaylor559. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for letting me know that the alarms don't work on the Charge 4. I'm sorry for the experience that you've had with it and your previous Charge 2. Our team continuously works on our devices and the feedback shared by our members is always taken into consideration to improve their performance.

In regards to your inquiry, may I know what happens when setting an alarm? Is the issue with the alarm not going off? Or is it with the snooze function? Have you tried restarting your tracker? Please confirm these details so I can further investigate on my end and help you with this situation.

I'll look forward to your response.

I'm having the same or similar problem. I've got two alarms set in the morning to get up for work. I've only had the Charge 4 for a week and twice I've overslept because the alarms were both changed to off. This is core functionality for me, and I was already disappointed with having to set the alarms on the device and not in the app. The first time it happened was the morning after I updated the firmware so I chalked it up to an update glitch. But it happened again today. Looks like this device is going back and I'll look into other options.

Hi @CallMeBlue. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for letting me know that the alarms on your Charge 4 aren't working correctly. I understand how helpful this feature is for you and I'm sorry for this inconvenience. In case you want to give one last try to your tracker, please try restarting it to refresh its settings. Then remove it from the Bluetooth settings on your phone, open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device and follow the onscreen instructions to reconnect your tracker to your Fitbit account. Once this is done, try setting up an alarm one more time and let me know if the issue persists.

Keep me posted.

Hi Lizzy, the alarm works again as normal for me. Unfortunately I can not estimate precisely when this got fixed for me.

The only thing I did differently was to setup 2 alarms neither of which is repeating 7 days a week, i.e. 1 for the weekend and another for the weekdays. Before I used to have but one. Just mentioning this in case that it might be relevant, but I doubt it got fixed by any change on the user side.

Greetings!

Is there a solution for this issue anywhere? I just bought my fitbit charge 4 and I'm having the same alarm issues. I can't figure out how to troubleshoot it. Has the support team figured out a solution that hasn't been posted yet?

same issue here.

did restart, to no avail. app and firmware are up to date.

I did found something interesting: my charge4 seems to think the alarm is on. I noticed it wasnt buzzing, but the screen was in alarm mode. I didnt turn off this silent alarm, and it kept snoozing all day. So i suppose that the issue with mine is only with activating the buzz function.

Hi @DN19 and @AVosk, it's good to see you here in the forums. @Nadiaorsoitseem, welcome on board.

@DN19,I'm glad the alarms are working correctly on your Charge 4 and thanks for sharing the steps that worked for you! This is great news and I'm sure your post will help other members experiencing a similar issue.

@Nadiaorsoitseem, thanks for joining this thread about the alarms not working correctly. To work on this together, could you please provide me with more details about the issues experienced? Is it related to the vibration motor? Or is it with the repetition turning off by itself? If you've not done so, please try deleting your alarms, restart your tracker, setting up your alarms one more time and let me know how it goes.

@AVosk, thanks for the steps that you've tried to get your alarms working on the Charge 4. Because your tracker isn't vibrating, I've requested a case on your behalf so our Support team can help you out with this matter. Just note that due to recent events affecting our operations there might be a delay in their reply, but they'll get in touch with you soon.

I'll look forward to your comments.

Hi all,

Hereby an update about my alarms. I have had contact with Fitbit support, and they advised me to perform a factory reset. It has been almost 3 weeks since then, and the alarms are still working. I do keep my fingers crossed though; little bit afraid that I might oversleep in the near future. But so far, so good.

Here I am again.

Unfortunately, the issue came back a few days after my last post. It actually was quite terrible to oversleep again when you just have found back trust that the alarms work. Didn't have the best experience with Customer Support either; they kept asking me to update my app, my phone, remove the Charge 4 from the app, etc. In the end I got pissed and asked them whether they acknowledge the issue and whether they prioritise it.

The answer was that they are aware this issue exists and are not planning to resolve it in the near future.

It is a relief to some extent; I finally got confirmation for what I already figured. But it also sucks: now I set 3 alarms per morning to prevent oversleeping when one fails. This is obviously not the quality you would expect.

In my case, the issue has occured for a smart alarm that I set for every weekday and for a one-time alarm that I had set the night before. So I advice you all to set 3 alarms! 😣

Hi there,

Sadly, I quit using the Charge 4 alarms some time ago, it’s obvious that it’s a recurring problem that requires solving on Fitbit’s end via a firmware update. It’s also obvious that they seem to be unwilling to address the issue.

As a paying customer, I find this utterly unacceptable, this is not a 10 buck Chinese gimmick, it’s a rather expensive device from a (supposedly) reputable brand. As an IT professional myself I’m aware that this kind of mishaps can happen, but I also know that clients demand answers and solutions which, sadly, Fitbit seems unable or unwilling to provide.

I still like my Charge 4 for the rest of its functionality and I also love Fitbit’s app, therefore, given that it’s still a relatively new device, I’ll keep using it for a while, but I decided I’ll not buy another Fitbit device again. Alarms are a key functionality of these devices and I’m not willing to look the other way in this matter. Fitbit should be ashamed of keeping selling a 150 bucks device with this issue and openly admitting they don’t give a **** about it and are not planning to solve it.

So long, Fitbit.

I have had the same experience with my Charge 3 since the alarm setting capability was removed from the app it is completely unreliable and impossible to troubleshoot which is unacceptable.

I too am having the same problem. I need 3 alarms a day for medications and neither of them go off. My notifications also dont always go off as well as it always stips syncing. No joke i have to unpair and pair my watch about 6-10x a day. And everytimei come and go from wifi i have to resync it. Like i didnt buy this to spend my days syncing and rebooting the watch and so i can continue to carry my phone w me.... Kinda annoying bc i bought the watch to not have to always use my phone. I've even told ppl to just get apple watches bc this fitbit is a waste of money......is there a way to fis this or return the watch?

I'm having exactly the same problem. I have 2 alarms set to remind me to take my blood sugar levels. The alarms go off OK, but I can't dismiss the alarm as the alarm then turns off so it doesn't go off the following day. I've tried ignoring the alarm and it snoozes, goes off again 9 minutes later and then turns itself off. I have to remember to turn both alarms back on the following morning.

Any idea when this is going to be fixed?

I'm having the same problem.  I have it set for every weekday, but every once in awhile I won't wake up on time.  I can't tell if I slept through the alarm or if it did not go off.  I'm a light sleeper, so I'd be surprised if I slept through the alarm, but I don't know enough about the alarm function.

Can I adjust the intensity of the alarm?

Had a Charge 4 for a few weeks after previously having the Charge 3.

Alarm doesn't work and I frequently wake up 20 mins after it was due to go off.

I see I’m in the club. I am extremely disappointed with the Charge 4. Loved my Alta and Charge 3 but can’t depend on the 4. Very difficult to set up and then it doesn’t hold the settings. I should have sent it back while still within the return window.

My alarm stopped working too. I thought it must obviously have been something I was doing wrong, but then checked these forums and see others with the same problem.

An alarm working, then not working, on a £120 watch is completely unacceptable!

I have had the Fitbit for about 6 months, now I have the stress of not knowing if the alarm will go off.

I hadn't turned on DND, the alarms were set properly (and untouched), aerting new alarms didn't work either. Doing a factory reset has worked just now, and I hope it continues working. Factory reset to fix an alarm is a joke.
