I've had my Charge 4 for a long time and I've never had a problem with it until yesterday.
It was working fine and at 49% battery before I went to swim practice and after a two hour practice my watch was dead. I've been swimming with my Charge 4 ever since I got it a few years back so this was an odd occurrence to me.
I let my watch charge last night and it was one full battery when I put it on. 30 minutes later I went to look at my watch and I noticed of was of 50% battery already. Another 10 minutes later and I checked the battery health again and it was on 40% battery.
When it isn't on the charger the watch is currently loosing about one percent battery a minute now. And it used to be surviving at least 5 days before needing charged.
I love the watch and it has preformed well over the few years I've had it but, I'm confused on why it is acting up now and how I can fix it since I've tried the recommended things today ready.

Mine started doing the exact same 4 days ago. I had no issues whatsoever with the battery prior. Yesterday I charged it to 100% and put it on at 10 pm when I went to bed. The battery was dead by 1230 am. I have spoken to Fitbit Support via chat and they have been useless. Today all they could tell me was they are forwarding my info to the warranty dept and someone will be in touch with me. I told them my Fitbit is out of the warranty period but they didn’t care and ended the chat very quickly. I believe it’s an issue with their firmware though they don’t seem to want to acknowledge that. To say I’m disappointed with their Customer Service is an understatement.

Same here: about 10 days ago, no changes in use (don't use GPS etc, just tracking, never get it wet), and the battery started draining really fast. Like from 100% in the morning to almost nothing in the afternoon. Did settings > about > reboot, no effect. Help on phone useless: said I'd get an email, and all that said was out of warranty, buy a new one. This one isn't even 1.5 years old.

Mine also, and my watch is just about 14-16 mths old. Seeing more threads about this so I think you Correct about a firmware issue rather than it being a unit issue

Big +1 ….. absolutely no issues until a week ago then battery draining in the space of hours

Same issue here within the past 2 weeks. Battery drains in few hours.

I had the same battery drain issue appear overnight. I charged it this morning and did a reset only to have it drain super quickly again today. Customer support is also looking into my warranty information. Such a frustrating disappointment.

I just started having this issue about 24 hours ago. I put it on to charge and it vibrated as well as showed me the battery was charging. I forgot about it overnight. Went to put it on this morning. Got it off the charger and it was at 0 %. Put it back on the charger. It took almost 2 hours, but it charged to 100%. Had it on a on 3 hours and noticed it was at 52%. Just woke up. Tried to check the time, it it shows 0%.
This has to be a firmware issue

Mine is the same issue at a year and a half old. Worked fine all that time and I loved my charge 4. Now I am out of warranty period and Fitbit offered 35% off a new one. Unsure I want another Fitbit as reading all the comments out there I am wondering if in another18 months I’ll be in the same situation!

Mine is doing the same thing. Normally my battery lasts me a week now it dies after 2 days. Also I'm not receiving any of my notifications to my fitbit

Thank you for the suggestion Medic673. I'm probably going to do that since I don't want another watch to die after a year and some months.

It is so disappointing. Loved the watch. Interestingly last night I charged it fully before bed to get sleep results. App looks different today. New measurements of sleep I’ve not seen before. Coincidence? Hmm

Bonjour

Yes, I am having the same issue with my Charge 4. It is less than 2 years old. Very unhappy with the short lifespan. Looking into fitness trackers (other than fitbit) with longer lifespans

Now the plastic piece on side has fallen off so that the watchband will not hold it. No matter that it cannot charge it now fell apart, unreal it can last only 18 months. Ugh

My 20-months old Charge 4 started doing the same thing 3-4 days ago. Tried everything.
No more Fitbit for me.
