My Charge 4 screen is black. At first it just kept vibrating when I hit the reset button. Now it won’t respond at all. I have tried plugging it into the charger and resetting the clock display as suggested in another post. When I did that I did get a line on the screen while it synced but it was still unresponsive after that. When I sync the charge 4 with the app it seems to be still accurately tracking my steps and my heart rate.
update: I got frustrated after trying everything with no luck. Lucky for me, I got insurance on it through Amazon when I bought it and they have already reimbursed me. A Charge 5 is in my future… but from all your responses something is definitely up. Was there a software update that went wrong for our devices?

I totally agree. Something happened on their part and they refuse to take ownership to it. Now today there is an update but can't even charge the fitbit to see if the update would help. So over it

I totally agree with you. Was also only offered a 35% discount. Something is not right. Wondering if we continue to call and complain would that help. Not happy with a 35% discount after having something for just 13 months

Update
even though iPhone app said battery was full, I kept the Charge 4 in the charger overnight, and was able to reboot it this morning. So now it seems to be working again.

@Momluvtay Agreed. It's super disappointing that they don't care about the issue or about their customers. It's almost insulting too that they replied to my email with "Hi xxx" because they didn't even care to take the time to enter my name in their automatic responses with a very insincere apology.

same issue to me, I'm able to restart it, just smiling face appears it disappears and go back to black screen. Any attempt to load a new clock is failing...

This is encouraging. I can reset if the battery is empty. Just for a minute I get a screen, then back to black/blank. I will try charging again.

How long did your battery last? Still working?

That was my experience as well. The fix is extremely temporary

Mine never came back. I tried for a few days and it quit syncing with my iPhone. I pitched it. It was a replacement for a Flex that got so dim I couldn’t read it. 35% off then, too. I moved on and got an Apple Watch. So far, it has been worth it.

Same issues here, but the app says it's up to date. No insurance offered when I got it in Amazon. They can say goodbye to me as a customer for 5 years. Cheap hacks.

My Charge 4 was getting hard to read because it was dim. I called and chatted with someone on their service, and they talked me through getting the face to be brighter. This happened before and I found the solution online, but I couldn´t find it again so I chatted with them. It took 30 minutes but I finally got the face brighter. You press the depression on the left side until you see a smiley face and then it resets itself. That took a half hour to find out!

I have the exact same problem. Hopefully FITBIT will reimburse me or provide a new one. I bought mine juste over a year ago!

I got the same 35% discount offer from them yesterday. However, it was the firmware update I downloaded that caused the issue. Frustrating that's all they will offer even though I have multiple chargers and bands and it was working fine until I did the update.

Yup. Mine is 18 months old and dead. This is my 5th or 6th FITBIT in the last decade. They just don't last.

Agree 100%. A 35% discount on a new one isn't enough when it was their update that caused the issue.
