Hi, I get the same issue as well, in certain lights I can just about see the screen, but it is so faint I can't workout what the clock says, or what menus I'm on. The watch still vibrates and tracks steps etc as I can see through my phone. It also syncs with the phone as it should. I have also tried restarting the watch, i think it restarts but the screen is still blank/very faint. It's so faint that I can't go into settings and change the brightness. I think this a common issue after googling the problem, not sure whether to cut my losses and buy a charge 6 or scrap it and go with an iWatch instead.

Hi. I have just experienced the exact same problems which persist despite having flagged the issues to customer support today and having a case number. Despite following their instructions, cleaned the contacts on both fitbit and charger, the screen is still black. Now I cannot even seem to contact customer service through chat anymore and am wondering what the point is if customer service no longer make themselves available after initial unsuccessful advice to solve a problem…

Hi, welcome to the forums @NathanielT @wilkdo @Grumble1
Thank you for providing all these details about this situation with your trackers, and the attempts to fix it on your own. I'm sorry to know the difficulty.
I'd suggest you perform a restart as suggested here: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
In addition, try to sync the device. If in any case you have difficulties to sync, see this article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
Besides that, I'd recommend you change the clock face on the device: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
@Grumble1, I'm sorry to see the difficulty that you are having while trying to contact support one more time. While checking up your information, I've been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed. Please, keep an eye on your inbox.

Hi, as mentioned, the watch vibrates and syncs perfectly fine with the phone. I believe i have restarted the watch by holding the button for 8+ seconds. Though i cannot see what happens as the screen doesnt work. I have also changed the clock face via the app and that doesn’t work either. Any other suggestions?

i had this issue today, totally black screen but looking on my fitbit app it was still counting steps, i tried the restart, got the smiley face but still blank... i found after a long time searching some one suggested it could be stuck in waterlock mode , apparently you need to tap the middle of the screen quite hard 2 times, i think i did it about 4 times and voila, the screen is back.... i didnt know it had this feature !

see my replies below, hopefully this works for you

I would scrap charge devices and go Xiomi or Huawai. I'm having the blank screen issues myself. Only solution from support seems to be "Restart it" which is ridiculous. I can't even connect to the app because I need the charge screen code to show up, which obviously it doesn't. When it used to work the display was unreadable outside with brightness turned up high. I thought the idea was to use it outside. Totally disappointed and "charge" devices are off my shopping list.
