Hi. My Charge 4 has always been terrible at syncing. I always try removing it from the Bluetooth and reconnecting with and restarting the device. But it never syncs reliably.
Recently, it is just stopped and now I can’t get it to sync at all. It’s stops and gets stuck halfway through the sync. I did upgrade to iOS 16 awhile ago. My FitBit app is up to date.
I’m so frustrated with Fitbit devices and their inability to sync my phone that I’m ready to give up on them and go buy an Apple Watch. This is ridiculous!

I was having the same problem with my Charge 4. I had to disconnect/reconnect to get it to sync. I ended up looking through all my Fitbit menus and found it was trying to sync with 8 different devices at once. I “revoked” access to all but my current phone and that seems to have fixed it.
To do this in the app go to Account (profile button in upper left) > Account Settings > Authorized Devices. Click on any unused devices and click “Revoke Access”.
Hope this helps.

I have tried literally every option in this thread and still cannot get my Charge 4 to sync to my iPhone app. I even attempted to remove the device from my app and try to set it up again, but now I can’t even get that to work. I get to the point where it says “enter the 4 digits on your device’s display,” I do so, and then it just says “Connecting to FitBit” forever. My device even said something like “download or update the app to set up device,” even though was literally what I was in the process of doing. As far as I can tell, my phone, app, and Charge 4 device are as updated as they can be. I’m so frustrated! I haven’t gotten my device to sync in about three weeks, and now I can’t even get it to register with my phone.

I'm having that exact same problem and can't get past the Download or Update The App message on my Charge 4 screen, I've reset the watch and reinstalled the app with no joy, I'm glad to see someone else is having the same problem as I now know its not me or my fitbit and more likely a glitch at their end, is yours saying the wrong time too? Mines 10 hours out so can't even use it as a watch either 🤬
