The band on my charge 4 broke and the little black connector broke when it hit the ground. Fitbit says they cannot help me because my fitbit is out of warranty and have offered me a 35% discount if I buy a replacement. It seems crazy/wasteful to me that they can't provide me with that little black piece and that I have to but a new one when my fitbit is perfectly functional. I know that they have a recurring problem with the band and the connectors breaking. I feel like both the band and the connector should last longer than 20 months. Any advice, has anyone found a way to attach a band without the connector?

Hi @Ayb2 several people went to Amazon and purchased a protective band cover. It encompasses the pebble portion of the Charge 4 and it seems to work for them. You might want to check it out yourself.

Thanks for your response. Not sure I understand, does the protective band cover cover both the band and the fitbit? One side of my fitbit has no connector.

@Ayb2 the protective band cover will only need the pebble portion and it covers it completely. Here is one I found on Amazon, but there are many others. You'll understand more once you view the picture. click to view.

My broke last weekend. 22 months old. I superglue it back, the black connector to the band and then to my fitbit, and so far, it's working.

Hi @Ayb2, These bands are made to solve the problem of the broken connector, the pebble fits into the center. The brand names on Amazon are Saufly, Supcase, Kakurookie, Nikki & Goeseth. These are not fashionable but they work, you are looking for bands that look like this picture. Hope this helps.

I have had this happen 3 times!! I agree with you. fitbit replaced it twice, but it is quite inconvenient. I'm thinking of switching to a different product.

Thank you to everyone for your responses. I will try the band, it seems like a better solution than buying a new fitbit. I still wish Fitbit had offered to replace or sell me the broken piece. Or at least suggested the protective band cover as a possible solution. I am kind of surprised, I found their customer service in the past to be excellent, which is why I've had at least 7 fitbits over the years and purchased them for others.

I will never purchase Fitbit again if I have to purchase another type of band. I have a variety of colored bands. I will replace with Apple!

I am done with Fitbit. Going to purchase an Apple watch to solve the problem.

As others have said superglue will work but basically this is a long-term problem with these fitness trackers

My band connector broke after **15** months and Fitbit won’t stand behind their products. $129 is a lot of money!!! My first Fitbit lasted 8 years. Very dissatisfied. Won’t be buying another… even at 35% off!

Same problem here. I fixed the connector with a DIY approach and Crazy Glue. Search "Broken strap connector: Successfully repaired! DIY"
