Charge 4 band connector snapped

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After only 14 months of daily (light) use, the connector piece that allows the charge 4 device to snap to a band sheared off.  This seems to be a design flaw in the unit as there are a plethora of posts on this subject here.  Looking at the brojen piece, the plastic connector is in good shape - it's the plastic from the watch itself that was gouged out.  Because the unit is just over a year old - Fitbit support only offers a discount (~30%) on a new product.  Does Fitbit expect me to buy a new Fitbit every year when the product breaks?  Charge 4 seems less robust than the previous models (family member has had a Blaze for many years with no issue) - in my opinion, Fitbit needs some serious quality control/improvements on Charge 4 to earn my trust back.

Mine snapped too and this is the SECOND time I've bought a Fit Bit and this happened. The response you got is horrible too. Totally unhelpful. Clearly they don't mind losing bisiness.

Here exactly the same issue. Fitbit bought in july 2020 and last week the connector piece also snapped.

I hope Fitbit respects the 2 years of warranty. Or it will be no longer Fitbit for me.

Same thing happend mine I contacted fitbit and they replaced the whole piece minus the strap which had also broken and I had replaced a few weeks previously. I am hoping that if it breaks again I will get it replaced again. They are a bit expensive to have to buy again when its through no fault of my own. Its a flaw in development

My Charge 4 band connector snapped off also. The connector is fastened to the Charge 4 with two very tiny screws that are screwed into the Charge 4 through two very small posts, which are the broken part. The screw posts appear to be very fragile.  I managed to find on Amazon a smartwatch case and band compatible with Charge3,4,5 which accepts the Charge 4 without the band attached. Claims it does not interfere with charging.  Ordered it today (Feb 07 '22 and will post additional info when it arrives.Total cost is $7.48. For the duration I am keeping my Charge 4 on my wrist with a clean sweatband.  Can't see the display but at least it will keep tracking while I wait for the new band to arrive on the 9th.

Update:

Received the band that I ordered from Amazon, my Charge 4 easily slipped into the holder, has a very nice look and feel. It fit comfortably on my wrist and works like nothing ever happened.  Just connected the charger to it and the charging display popped up, so all is good.
