Charge 4 band holder broke off

I was taking my Fitbit Charge 4 off one day and the Band Holder broke off. I don't know if it is even possible to fix. I only have two pieces and after watching YouTube my spring is gone. One of the screw holes has a screw in it. How am I to fix this. My Fitbit was purchased in April 2020 and the website says there is no warranty when I tried to file a claim. Now I am back to my Fitbit Charge 2 which seems to be build better than the 4.

Can anyone help me?

Hey there.  Yeah when mine broke, I did lose part of the band.  Sorry I am not aware that a fix has been found for the problem.  Fitbit does know that it's a problem.  Have you contacted support ?  Is the charge 4 still under warranty ?  If so, have you taken it back to where you bought it?

I understand your hesitancy re: another charge 4.  In my case, I got a replacement and have so far not had any issues.

Good luck with getting it all sorted.

I have the same problem, but sadly my Charge 4 is no longer under warranty. I tried to glue it back together but it won't clip. I just want to know if this is even possible to fix if I take it somewhere or am I just stuck buying one of the new, ugly models?

So sorry to hear that has occurred.  I've never tried re-attaching the broken bit, so can't really say if it wold work.  Not sure what Fitbit can do.  Have you asked them ??? Is the Charge 4 just out of warranty ?  Never know if they will help but it can't hurt to ask.  Good luck

No!

People deserve to know about Fitbit's poor commitment to Customer care!

Fitbit's Charge4 band holder design/manufacturing weakness/defect has effectively destroyed otherwise perfectly good devices!!

This is a commonly, recurring problem for their Customers and yet, Fitbit has failed to make ANY solution available!!

Asking Customers to buy a new device and offering a Very Inadequate discount is disgraceful and beckon Customers loyalty to yhe brand.

Such a disloyalty to their Customers should rightfully impact their profitability!

So, let's keep letting "the community" know about Fitbit's utter disregard to their Customer's harm in such matters.

Gosh, mine broke yesterday. Bought in Oct 2020... Looks like design flaw. I am switching away from Fitbit after poor experience with charge 3 as well

I have the same problem with my band connector broken. I also purchased in 2020, so no warranty. Looking at new tracker and feel I should steer clear of Fitbit.  I can't go back to my charge 3 as it no longer works

Same. Band connector thingie broke yesterday. My Charge 4 was purchased June of 2021. Tried to file a broken band claim, but it said I have no band warranty ... only the band is NOT broken, just the part on the device that enables it to connect to the band. 😞

I have had the same thing happen to me . I took a photo with some random number next to the broken device and received a refurbed replacement. This has broken  in less than a month. I have been on chat for an hour to support receiving platitudes and no answers. It is very frustrating. The charge 4 is not fit for purpose and we should be receiving refunds or the charge 4 should be replaced with an alternative model

UPDATE: so ... I'm one month out of warranty so no replacement or repair for me. But they did give me a discount code to buy another device which may or may not have the same design flaw. 😞

I have the same issue with my Charge 4 as everyone else, the band holder has broken off and no way to get it fixed other than to buy another Charge 4.

However, I have found that Amazon sells a complete band with case which will accommodate the broken Charge 4 (once you remove the remaining strap). look for:

Saufly Smartwatch Cases with Band Compatible with Fitbit Charge 3 /Charge 4 /Charge 5 Fitness Tracker, Soft Silicone Straps Replacement Wristbands with Full Protection Case Cover for Women Men

It sells for $7.49 and looks great, wears comfortably, and accepts the charger your Charge 4 came with. Got min this past February and have no complaints.

Unfortunately the same exact thing happened to me too, It’s happened to me twice now. Both times while taking the watch off. The first time it happened, I got a replacement. Being even more careful now, I thought the band wouldn’t break off again, but apparently I was wrong. It’s really frustrating and disappointing to have to file a claim again. The first time this problem appeared I wrote it off as a fabrication malfunction. But since this has happened twice now, I can’t help but consider this product an inferior product of the Fitbit charge line.
Now I’d like to file a second claim, since both these incidents happened in the span of one year. But when I try to file this claim through the Fitbit app, it doesn’t seem to work. I suspect that happens because I’ve filed a claim before.
Are there other ways to file a claim? Or could somebody explain to me what I could be doing wrong while trying to file a claim?

thank you, Nora.

Mine just broke also, and this is the second time. The band they sent me just broke in the same place… the little plastic piece with the springs popped right out from the band. Has anyone checked the Charge 5 to see if they designed them better, and if so shouldn’t they be replacing the 4’s with the 5’s??? Please help I’m lost without my Fitbit

I will be happy to send my band to you.  The part of the watch body that clasps the band and holds on to it totally broke.  Useless to even get a new band, because the band is fine, it’s the integral part built into the Fitbit that is destroyed.
My wrist is small so when the band is adjusted to fit my wrist, it must put too much pressure on the plastic part of the watch. It just slipped off my wrist the other day while I was shopping. Fortunately I felt it slip and caught it.
So now I have a Fitbit that can’t be worn because the “guts” are gone and the band can’t be attached to the watch.
Hello, Apple Watch!  Should have done that before buying my first one; this is my second.
No mas!!!!!!

Thanks so much for your offer. I have the same problem as you with the
bank just falling off. I glued the broken bit, so now the band stays on,
but not as good as originally.

I will be thinking seriously when the time comes to replace it

Again, many thanks

That’s very kind but like you it’s the fixing of the watch to the band that has broken.
Someone replied to the post with an alternative strap that will incorporate the fitbit watch so I’m going to try that.
