The plastic nub that sticks out from the actual Fitbit (and into which the band attaches) has broken, making the device unwearable. It's not the band itself, it's wide, black plastic nub that slips into the removable watch band that has broken.
I have had this watch for 16 months, apparently 4 months beyond warranty. These plastic parts are garbage. I feel duped. They (FitBit) did offer me a 35% discount on a few other products.
HMMMMmmmmm spending $260 on a disposable watch....I think I will research Samsung Watches.

The exact thing happened to me, and I’ve had mine for about 6 months. About to reach out, but I’m really upset.

Happened to me as well. Mine was 1 Year 6 months, with no physical damage visible. Horrible experience talking and reporting this. The only option available from their support is to buy a new one with some minimal discount. I was living it until now, feature wise but this hardware is garbage and company doesn't stand behind. They are actually recommending me to buy an extra warranty next time I buy. I guess, they don't care.

Happened to me as well at 13 months so out of warranty. Fitbit won't do anything even though the design is flawed. Found a protective case on amazon for $12. But plan to look at competitors.
Fitbit is putting profits first.

Same situation? Finally got the Charge 4 and Android phone updated and cooperative...then woke up and found the Fitbit laying on the bed...broken...not the band itself...but the plastic connection on the Fitbit itself. Have had mine 6-7 months or so. Have not knowingly bumped it on anything...but since I wear it all the time...hard to say... I think my Charge 3 had a metal body/frame?

Upon reading my receipt closer, I did purchase an extended warranty (1yr) thru a local box store for $35.
Will go visit them this week.

A relief, I guess! Most credit cards offer additional 1 year extended warranty. I checked the transaction and mine does. I've been told that I qualify and I applied for the claim. Let's see if they turn me down citing some fine print clause. Fingers crossed! Nevertheless, this product has serious flaw, with so many cases just after 1 year and very disappointing support from the company. Best of luck,

Replacement is on the way...I hope. I do have a 3 yr extra warranty...not so sure this would cover a second replacement though.
I am going to buy one of these covers that seem to help avoid shocks and so forth to the Fitbit from bumps...etc. Problem is they don't have one that extends out over the ends where the break was. Cons? Stuff collects under the plastic and after a while it doesn't look so good. Not sure how the plastic will affect the screen-sensitive stuff like tapping and swiping. It's soft plastic so I might try making a cutout in the plastic on top.

Busted Band Fix - Hack/Suggestion
(Heavy on the hack!)
While it won’t actually “repair” the issue, if you’re faced with the option of recycling the un-wearable device or shelling out for a new one, there is always Krazy Glue! Tape will also work in a pinch, but it can be a pain to get it to work effectively without covering the sensors; especially the altimeter which is the small hole on the side. (I’ve found blue painters-tape works well, but clearly I have no experience with this issue! 🤫😉)
Hope that helps or gives you a chuckle! 🙂

Can you link to what you found on Amazon?
I need some kind of fix too without purchasing a whole new fitbit.

This happened to me twice! Gave Fitbit benefit of the doubt when purchasing the Charge 4. Bye bye Fitbit!
