Charge 4 battery dying extremely fast

My charge 4's battery lasts for 3 hours at most before dying, even after it's been charged fully. I've already made sure that the GPS settings are at 'Phone GPS' as opposed to 'In-built' GPS, but the problem persists. Not sure of what to do - it worked fine for the past few months (bought it in early 2020) but has suddenly begun acting up. I have also updated the tracker, but this has not changed anything. Please help!

The USB port or outlet is faulty. Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger. The device isn't connected securely to the charging cable, or you're using a charging cable that came with a difference device or from another retailer.

Thank you for your information. I did try 2 USB ports and 2 outlets
earlier in the week. After charging the battery the device registered 100%
charge, using the phone app. The battery drains in 2 to 5 hours to 0.
I have not charged the batter for the pasts couple of days, it seems
pointless.

I do appreciate your input, and will charge it again if you have more
ideas. Let's try to keep this fitbit out of the landfill.

For what it's worth, I started having this problem last weekend. After a few days, I found a thread where someone mentioned the problem started for him shortly after opting in to the irregular heartbeat monitoring. I had done that a while ago, but figured turning it off was worth a shot (Account>Activity & Wellness>Heart Settings>Heart Health Notifications). While I was at it, I uninstalled Spotify, Agenda and Weather from the device. And one of those things solved it immediately. No problem for several days now.

  • Thank you. I am happy that you figured out the problem with your fit bit.  I did try turning off many of the functions, to no avail.  I finally gave up.The battery draining within two hours was too much of a hurdle to overcome.
