My Charge 4 suddenly went from having it's usual very solid battery life to lasting only 3-4 hours of non-exercise-tracking use. It's almost as if the GPS is stuck on. Since it was sudden, it doesn't seem like the sort of gradual battery degradation all electronics experience. What can I do about this?
Here's what I've tried, and even so the battery drains in 3-4 hours after it has been charged to 100% and left sitting on my desk.
I feel like my next step would be to roll back to a previous version of the firmware, but that doesn't seem to be supported by the app. The device is currently running 20001.100.76. Alternately, are there other ways of doing a factory reset, beyond clearing all user data?
Thanks!

Just adding to this for visibility. I purchased my charge 4 new in February of this year. The battery suddenly started draining rapidly just a couple of days ago, so I contacted Fitbit for support. In the interim, I switched to the refurbished charge 4, that I received under warranty after a previous charge 4 failed, and had been saving for backup in the inevitable event that my new Fitbit would fail prematurely. I'm such an avid Fitbit user and didn't want any breaks in my data. 😓 Fitbit support told me that the battery drain isn't covered under warranty and that was that. I purchased this charge 4 new in February, and it's lasted less than a year. I've used Fitbits for almost 10 years and have pretty much grown accustomed to having to replace it yearly...I think I've finally had enough.

I'm adding a few more things I tried, still with no success. These came from other forum posts and a conversation with support.

I've been having the exact same issue which started 2 days ago. Went from normal to draining and not keeping a charge for the exact amount of time you're describing. I don't ever use GPS and have not changed settings. Support told me to charge it fully and sync. Then when it gets down to zero sync again. Basically do this for at least a day and contact them again if it's still an issue. It's been 48 hours and nothing has changed with troubleshooting. I'll be reaching back out to them after one more round of this, but I'm not hopeful. I've had a Fitbit of some variety for almost 10 straight years but their support and customer service has tanked and it feels like the products are becoming more and more disposable

Well, my Charge 4 battery didn't even last through my 5 mile run yesterday, even though I started at 100% battery. I chatted with support again, and they hooked me up with a 35% discount code. Despite my disappointment with this battery problem, I'm going with a new Charge 5, which seems to be the only compact GPS enabled fitness tracker on the market. Unfortunately, the discount can't be combined with the current sale, which would have made for a really good deal. I'd honestly kinda prefer a deal on the extended warranty given the poor durability of my Charge 4.
