Hi guys,
My Charge 4 is suddenly doing some odd things! I've just got back from a walk of about an hour and it says that I've walked 4,644 steps (which is probably about right) but that I've only covered 0.01 of a mile, which is obviously wrong, and according to Nutracheck, which it's linked to, that burned 307 calories.
As far as the calories are concerned, that seems excessive. It wasn't a very fast walk - I just went around town, stopping a few times and certainly wasn't power walking for a whole hour. I'm 41, 5'6 and weigh 10st 6lb, so I don't think realistically I would burn that many calories just from a moderate walk, would I?
Distance wise, I've used mapmywalk and found that I actually covered 2.5km. The Fitbit app has location permission turned on from my general settings and has got 'walk' turned on to auto-recognise, although there is a thing under that which says 'GPS will not be turned on' which I'm confused by. I don't know if it's always been like that, as I've never altered those settings before.
Does anyone know what could be going on? The only settings I've been fiddling with lately are the auto-recognitions because I found that Fitbit and Strava were double-counting my runs (as in, it would award me extra calories from both the run itself AND the steps I covered, as if they'd been separate) so I turned off the auto-recognise feature for runs, but that's it.
I've reset my Fitbit and I've unpaired and re-paired it with Nutracheck, but it didn't fix anything - and really I don't think that's the problem, since Nutracheck gets all my exercise data from Fitbit anyway, so they says the same. I don't use Strava for just walks, so that can't have been the problem today either. Does anyone have a clue what it's doing, with regard to the distance or calorie issue? My Charge is a few years old, so could it be going wrong because it's coming to the end of its life, or is there something I might be able to fix?
Thanks in advance for any help!
