Charge 4 - black screen and won’t reboot

Charge 4 screen is black and not responding.  Tried the following - plugged in unit appropriately.  Pressed button for 8 seconds and released.  Opened Fitbit app.  Steps are recording.  Tried to change clock face and received message “could not connect to Fitbit make sure it is charged and nearby.”  It was on charger and within a foot of each other.  Fitbit app says to resync / attempted same / did not work.  Please advise if there are any steps I can still use to fix this situation.  Also, When you press the button it does a quick vibration zzz-zzz and then when you release it after a few seconds it does the same thing zzz-zzz.

I'm also having similar issues. Mine the  screen is blank, it's counting steps, but the battery on the app isn't updating.  I charged the unit several hours and it has a green light on the bottom.  I read there might be a water lock feature,  I double tapped it and it's still no display.  The side button isn't functioning either.

Same as mine. Tried everything, but there's no Fitbit support to make you buy a new one.

Hi @JP8E @Philosophical. Thanks for being back in the community. 

I'd suggest you confirm that your device is charging correctly. 

Please take a look at the following help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

After performing the troubleshooting steps in order to get the device charging correctly, try one more time please changing the clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?.

If changing the clock face still not resolve the situation: Sync in the Fitbit app by tapping the upper left corner icon > Device > Sync Now. 

If Sync now doesn't work, please tap again the upper left corner icon > Device > Tile to see if the firmware banner appears. 

Please restart the device as indicated here: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
