My Fitbit Charge 4 has a completely blank screen and no amount of pressing buttons or swiping shows anything. It is however still communicating my data to the Fitbit app.

@JacquiW63 Please try restarting your Charge 4 this way:
- Plug your charging cable into a power source
- Attach your Fitbit to the charging cable
- It should vibrate
- Press and hold the button for eight seconds
- Your Fitbit should vibrate again with its restart
I hope you get the smiley face after the restart. If the screen stays blank, then I think your screen failed. This can happen with older monochrome screens.
