I had a swim with my charge 4 Fitbit, but afterwards my Fitbit stopped working. It immediately told me the battery was empty and after trying to charge it for a few times, the screen just stayed black or it turned on for a few minutes, charged for a while but when I put it on again, it was immediately out of battery and dead again. Please help me.

In my case, when I got home after my swim, I plugged it in and got the smiley face..so I assumed it was fully charged, but when I put it on my wrist, the Fitbit was hot. I immediately took it off and noticed it had not charged. If it’s not meant to wear when swimming, why does it have swimming as an exercise? Very disappointed..

This same thing happened to me! How old is your charge 4? Mine is just over 2 years, and it's out of warranty. Went through a virtual chat rigamarole and then a phone call and basically the battery is just dead. If swimming kills a 2 year old battery, then why is swimming listed as a permissible exercise? Their solution was a 35% discount on a new device, which is nice, but I shouldn't have to buy anything. Using the device as instructed shouldn't have killed the battery.

I had to spend a day or two trouble shooting with the instructions from the virtual chat team and they gave me a case number to reference. But nothing worked. I finally called customer service and referenced my case number. I was on hold off and on for awhile, and the rep told me that they could see from their end that my battery wasn't working. That call took about 20 or 30 minutes. And then within about half an hour I had my 35% discount offer.
The Charge 4 is discontinued. The discount code can't be used on Inspire 3 (orAce 2, Ace 3, Versa 4 or Sense 2). So it's looking like either a Charge 5 or the Luxe... I do like the built in GPS feature that the Charge 5 has. I just don't want to drop a bunch of money for it to die in 2 years with normal use. I don't know.

We’ll, now this is not just me! Thanks for your response. It’s a known issue and they can’t say they didn’t know.

I remember when I first got the charge 4, when I used the gps my battery died within hours! It’s actually kinda freeing to not have it on for 2 days. I may look at a different company since they are so non responsive! Thanks.
