I was so happy today to receive my brand new Charge 4!

Set-up went smoothly, BUT...I don’t get any notifications... not from calls, texts or apps!😤😭

Is it me or my device?  Please help me!

Take it easy! Maybe it’s only because the DND option is activated. Just keep pressed the side button and turn the DND off. (DND = Do Not Disturb)

that’s not good. If I can’t make it work, I’ll have to return it. 🤷🏽‍:male_sign:

Hi everyone. It's good to see you participating in the forums. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

@Tgreen7@KrisOTee and @BitAddict, thanks for the information provided as well for your efforts while working on this situation. I see where you're coming from about your notifications not working and just to confirm, have you made sure to set the "Show Previews" to Always for phone, messages, calendar and other apps notifications? If that's correct, make sure the Fitbit app is updated in your iPhone, go to your phone's settings > Messages and toggle the iMessage setting. Then try testing the notifications one more time.

@NLCC and @Eiphnh, thanks for getting back with the requested information. Let me share that our team is aware that some of our members are getting "Notifications service not running" on their Fitbit devices and they're currently working to get it fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, we recommend to keep your tracker and the Fitbit app updated so you can receive the quickest solution.

@Lejomr, thanks for joining this thread. Since your post didn't mention, I'd recommend to give a try to the troubleshooting tips described in this help article.

@Gurvi, @SunsetRunner and @Neil_nevo, thanks for sharing the steps that worked for you and I'm glad that your Charge 4 is receiving your notifications. Good job!

Let me know how it goes.

I just bought my charge 4 today. I have tried every recommendation in the thread and cannot get my notifications to come through. All of my settings are correct. My DND is off as well as sleep mode. My app is updated. I tried rebooting my phone and charge 4 per the instructions above and nothing.
I have an iPhone 8 Plus

The notifications are working now but I don't want my previews to show on my phone. I used to get notifications on my charge 2 without having them preview on my phone. Why doesn't the charge 4 work the same way?

I have an iPhone 8, bought Fitbit charge 4 yesterday.  Can’t get text, calls or any notifications to work.  Uninstalled several times.  Worked fine with my charge 2 previously.  Any advice please?

Hi @Megan777h and @Jo_C_. Welcome to the Community Forums. @BitAddict, I'm glad to see you here again.

Thanks for your continued reports and feedback about your Charge 4 not receiving notifications. Let me explain that with the introduction of iOS 13, the required settings to receive notifications changed. For that reason, on the Notifications settings in your phone you'll need to set Show Previews to Always or When Unlocked for Fitbit, Phone, Messages, Calendar and any other preferred app. Also, make sure to add a check mark for Notifications Center under Alerts.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. Your feedback won't be taken for granted and will helps us to evaluate our procedures to improve your Fitbit experience.

I'll be around if you have more questions.

My app also says "notification service not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker." I have tried everything. Restarting phone, checking settings on phone, restarting device. Switching on and off Bluetooth. Forgetting device and adding again. Nothing works. Please help. It is very frustrating. Thanks.

I am having the same problems too and I have an inspire. Is there any way to fix this? I went through all the troubleshooting sets and still no notifications.

I just got the 4 because a few days ago Fitbit had an update that made the 3 not work on my phone.  I get zero notifications on this 4, not even the step reminder.

My notifications haven't been working since I got the Charge 4. They didn't work on my Charge 3, either. They also didn't work on my wife's Charge 3. And her Charge 4. And her replacement Charge 4. So that's 5 devices so far that at some point stopped receiving notifications. There is always some fix that makes them work briefly (like sometimes for an hour or less), then it's back to no go. It's crazy that this problem has persisted so long.

Anyway, I was able to get mine working again today after noticing that my Charge 4 had DND mode turned on. I think it's been getting turned on accidentally during my workouts (for instance if my Fitbit screen comes into contact with my workout equipment for an extended period of time). Hoping that's it and we're good to go for the time being. It's also worth noting that the automatic Sleep Mode sometimes will not turn itself off after you wake up- that was the source of my issue at some point, too.

I was so excited as I got my charge 4 today and my notifications don’t work either. I should’ve stuck to the Charge 3 which was great. One of the reasons I use a Fitbit is because of the notifications. I’m very disappointed. Fitbit sort it out!

I seem to be having a similar issue. I've had my charge about a month but no notifications just started.

@LizzyFitbit

I just bought charge 4 and replace with my charge 2 today.

Phone : iPhone xs

iOS : iOS 13.6.1

Fitbit App verison : 3.28

1.With my charge , when call and message comes, the charge 2 vibrate normally. And text message will show up

2.With Charge 4, when call and message comes, the charge 4 will NOT vibrate. And text message never show up. Notification on Charge 4 is always empty.

I just double check several times with this help article  https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1979.htm?Highlight=Not%20vibrate%20call

All setting is correct based on this Q&A. Notification of Charge 4 is still not working.

I also follow @LizzyFitbit comment on this post, still in vain.

I make sure that all notification of prefered app in my iPhone turn on and set as "Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked"

And DND and sleep mode is off.

I contact support center chat, they told me  this issue happen on parts of user and dev team is working on it. They tell me to retry when the Fitbit app update in the future.

Notification feature is very important for me, Is there any workaround?

Fitbit are losing customers permanently over this, and they are ignoring
it. Inexplicable.
