Charge 4 doesn't receive notifications

I was so happy today to receive my brand new Charge 4!

Set-up went smoothly, BUT...I don’t get any notifications... not from calls, texts or apps!😤😭

Is it me or my device?  Please help me!

Hi @LizzyFitbit

I have followed all of the steps, and then all of your instructions here too but still no luck getting text notifications on my Fitbit charge4. I do receive call and calendar notifications, just not texts. This is one of the sole purposes of the purchase. My phone is an iPhone XS. Really appreciate any help you can offer! 🤞🤞🤞

I don't get any notifications. I am just happy that it counts my steps and
tracks my sleep for now. I hope Fitbit will do some updates and fix this
for us

Was having the same problem. My "do not disturb" settings were turned to "on" on the actual watch (I did not do this, so it somehow did it itself.) Try scrolling over and checking that setting

Hi all,

I found a solution, hope it can work for you guys.

1. Make sure the FW already update to latest one(48.20001.96.29)

2. Change Locale for your Charge 4 (Follow https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1536.htm )

3. It will update again on your charge 4

4. When update finished, restart your charge 4(Setting -> About -> Restart Device)

5. Launch your Fitbit App to make sure all notification setting preferred then sync.

6. Try a call or message to see is there notification on Charge 4 or not.

I finally got mine fixed. On the iPhone (XS) with the charge4 you must have show previews on your your texts... so if your phone is locked the actual text shows on the screen I stead of just a alert with who it’s from.
not ideal that you need to have everything showing on your phone in order to get the message on the Fitbit but at least I’m no longer spending HOURS a day going through the steps they provided over and over and over again. I’m not sure why this wasn’t part of the steps provided.... many people do not keep that preview on!!!

All I see is fix for iOS. What about Android? My Fitbit charge 4 is only a couple of hours old and I’ve already had to do a restart remove it readd, re-sync,  etc. etc. etc. It does not get notifications, it does not get phone calls and do not disturb is not on

I just got my Fitbit Charge 4 yesterday and I don't get any calls/text notifications, which is weird, because I'm getting calendar notifications.

I've tried the fixes proposed in the forum, but none of them worked. Reading everyone's comments, I wonder if there's a fix coming out soon or something like that, if so many people are running into these issues.

I'll try to get in touch with their tech support tomorrow, but in the meantime, if anyone knows of another fix, please do let me know.

Thanks!

yip. this is ridiculous. owned the device for 3 months. worked perfect for 2 months, then basically not working for the past 6 weeks. wont sync. wont get ANY notifications. i got the device to get the text messages into the device so i don't have to check my phone all the time. i do EVERYTHING that they say to do to get this thing to work...but i have to do it almost 10 times a day!! this is unacceptable!  what does your phone have to do with the app, honestly. why are there acceptable phone, yet they say it works on

  • Apple iOS 12.2 or higher
  • Android OS 7.0 or higher

i have samsung A20s running android 10 but only the A10 is there on the list as a compatible device with the app. it's a bit of a contradiction am i right?!?!

I recently got a new Charge 4 and it would also not show notifications but I found a fix! I Updated it and it would not show me any notifications but it would show on my phone. I uninstalled the FitBit app and forgot my device before reinstalling the app and letting the app reconnect my FitBit. It asked if it wanted to send me notifications from the app i said yes and then it asked if it would like for notifications to go to my FitBit and i also said yes and BOM! It started to work for me.

i hope this is useful for anyone!
