Charge 4 draining 100% in 30 minutes

Hello my Fitbit charge 4 has been working great up until yesterday. I didnt do anything in particular it just started draining the battery like crazy. I charged it to 100%, 30 minutes later ot is down to 6%. I tried again to 100%. Turned off GPS, rebooted and cleaned the connectors but still have the same problem.

I saw that many others have experience the same issue but couldn't really find a solution or cause.

Do you know of any sollution or what caused the sudden malfunction? Usually I just charge it once a week.

Hi niss3,

I posted about this the other day; my Charge 4 draining within a few hours after an app update. It could be an app or firmware update. Apparently Charge 5 users have also been experiencing issues recently as well after an update in June.

I just checked the app store (for my Android 13 phone), and the Fitbit app updated on August 1, so I updated my app. I haven't used my dead Charge 4 ever since this started, so I am charging it up now to see if there is any difference in behavior. The listed firmware version (1.100.76) itself is still the same, however.

I've also noticed that the charge status is different on the clock and in the app. When my battery is drained the app still think it is full. Then suddenly it says the battery is low. I start charging, when it reaches about 50% the app again says it is full but on the watch it is still far from full??
