Charge 4 is not responding and won't restart

My Charge 4 was working fine through yesterday when I went to sleep and plugged it in to charge overnight.  When I plugged it in it indicated that it had 80% charge.  When I put it on this morning, it did not light up when I pressed the button and I got a vibration instead.  None of the lights, front or back, are working.  I plugged it into a wall socket and let it charge for a while, thinking that it may have discharged for some reason overnight.  I let it charge for several hours, then tried the restart procedure.  It vibrated for a while but did not restart. The app on my phone can't connect to it, although it does indicate that the battery is full.  The device is over a year old and off warranty, of course. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem to which they have found a solution?

It happened to me two or three times over the last 3 months. Sometimes I’m in the middle of a workout with the GPS on (another failing feature of this model) and the screen goes black, the button doesn’t respond and the only way to turn it back on is to plug it on the charger.

Not very happy with my charge 4 and considering to get a Garmin.

Same happened to me!  It was working fine except for not really tracking my walks   It was charged I went to bed and died in the middle of the night. Totally unresponsive the next day. The app indicated the charge was at 40% which made sense. It would not sync, there was no vibration whatsoever. I looked up trouble shooting and did all the steps. The only time I got a response was when it was plugged in and pressing on the button and then it was a whirring sound but still nothing on the screen. 
There seem to be a lot us who our devises just died for no reason. I think something defective with this device and they don’t want to replace.
