My new Fitbit Charge 4 is counting too many steps. I’m wearing it on my non dominant wrist. I realized that when I only move my wrist, especially when I’m knitting, the fitbit is adding a lot of steps. Since I’m using that watch, my number steps are inaccurate, almost 1 and 1/2 what it should be.

@Annielem , A warm welcome to the Community ! Thank you for your message .
Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting.
The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running.
When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps.
When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working, knitting or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps.
For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats.

Press and hold the back and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. Let go of the buttons. If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on.
Restart.
Connect your device to the charging cable.
Press and hold the buttons on your tracker for 10 seconds.
Release the buttons.

Will
