I bought a Fitbit 2 and had it for 5 years. It worked perfectly. It started to finally have a few issues so I replaced it just a few months ago with the Charge 4. Now I have all kinds of issues. It doesn’t do the hourly 250 step count correctly. It tends to miss them when I am farther away from my home network even though I have it set to use roaming data. It also randomly started miss counting the floors. I have two flights of stairs, sometimes it will pick them both up and other times only 1 flight. I wear my device on my non dominant arm, snug and I don’t stop when going up my stairs. Yesterday on my morning walk (not going up any stairs) it counted 19 floors. I live in Southern California. We don’t have wind, rain, or any real changes in atmosphere. Also the stress tracker no longer will show the heart rate change. It just keeps saying to check back later. My routine is the same every day. I have rebooted the device, removed it from the app and phone, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app to start all over again. The stress monitoring and floor count got tremendously worse after this last update. Is this ever going to be fixed? If not I will trade you. You can have the charge 4 back and give me a new charge 2?

Step count and data usage have nothing to do with each other. You need to check the battery level of your Charge 4 and if it's a low battery, charge it. The 250 step feature relies on foot falls and if it doesn't sense that, it won't count it towards that goal. Once the battery is fully charged, you should have no problem.

My Charge 4 is great with the steps but the stair count has a real problem. it will show me doing over 100 when I've done 7 or 8 and this is every day now. I keep the charge at a minimum of 70%. Any suggestions?

Regarding the 250 step count, the physical Fitbit is counting the steps correctly but when I sync it to the app, the app does not show it correctly. For example I will sync my device before I go to out on errands or a walk a couple miles away from my home. The Fitbit and app will be showing 500 steps and shows on the app that I have reached my 8am & 9am goal. I will return home from two hours of constant walking making sure I am covering my 10am & 11am goals. When I sync it the step counts match but it doesn’t show the 250 goals were meet for those two hours. I never had this issue with my charge 2. I do not let the battery go below 50%. And for the stairs/floor count, yesterday I removed the device from my Bluetooth, logged out of the app, rebooted my iPhone and the device then made sure it was charged to 100% and hooked backup to my Bluetooth and app. I synced it before I left and only went up 1 flight of stairs (12 risers to be exact) and when I synced it again it showed that I climbed 5 flights of stairs! My charge 2 never had this issue. Are these issues going to be addressed and resolved? I have given up on the stress tracking issue.
