Charge 4 not getting HR and Sleep Score

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’m getting pretty pissed off. I’m using a Charge 4 currently to track my heart rate and sleep for specific reasons, and while it worked at first and would record my sleep stages and give me a sleep score, HRV, breathing rate and stress score, it does not anymore. It’s driving me insane how unpredictable and unreliable the tracker and app are. No matter if I manually sync the device or not, none of the data related to scores appears, despite having worn the thing for 14+ hours. It’s ridiculous, and it also does not allow me to reset when holding down the side button.

My iPhone 16 Pro is on airplane mode at night, but I have been assured through multiple searches that that shouldn’t impact data collected on the device overnight, and it was working just fine a week ago to give me the scores it should give.

What do I do? Why is this not working all of a sudden?

Hi @sarahjasmiine. A warm welcome to the forums.

Thank you for taking the time to share all these details regarding this difficulty that you recently have been experienced with the Charge 4. Also, thanks for the steps that you already performed in order to fix it.

In addition to the steps you've done, I suggest resetting the HR on your Charge 4 by following the steps below:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your watch, from the main screen of your watch, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Charge 4. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Charge 4's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your watch once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your watch once again (please note the second reset method described for Charge 4 in the article).
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Additionally, I recommend following the conditions described in this help article to get sleep stages: What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

I’m having the same issue with my charge 4 the last couple days.  It’s not showing my sleep graph.  I had my Fitbit on airplane mode for a week while I was away and it didn’t affect my syncing or data collection. It’s just been since Monday my graphs are showing differently.

Same here, things have been off since Monday. I also don’t have any sleeping heart rate data, ever, but I’ve given up on trying to fix that issue.

Thank you. I have followed the steps you provided and hope that this rectifies the issue so that I may have sleep and stress score data after tonight.
