Charge 4 not holding a charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I brought my Fitbit Charge 4 at the end of May and up until the last week it hasn't been holding its battery life for longer than one day.

I've done the latest software update but this doesn't appear to of made any difference. Often my Fitbit screen wont come on and the only way to get it working again if to plug it in. This happens even on full battery.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Welcome to the Community, @EmmaArnold123.

Thanks for troubleshooting this battery issue. If your Charge 4 isn't holding a charge, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life? and follow the tips provided there.

Now about the display, you can try to perform a restart by following the steps in the article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.

Let me know the outcome. 🙂

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I have recently tried the battery saving tips without any success.

I have also just re-booted my fitbit and straight away the screen went blank and I cant turn it on again. ( my Fitbit had just come off charge and had 100% battery)

I bought mine in mid May, the same thing is happening with the battery only lasting a day. The first few weeks were fine, but now it drains daily. I’ve reset it, I’ve looked into the tips on saving battery, nothing works. I’m so frustrated.

My fitbit 4 is Brad new, only used it a week or 2 and from day one it can't hold its charge for more than 8 to 10 hours max. Its the first and only fitbit I ever owned. I bought it in decathlon so seriously considering asking for a refund as no sign of improvement no matter what I try. I wonder if it was sitting in store for a year or more when I bought it?

Return it and get your money back. Mine never got better. I now have the Versa 2. I love it, no problems, battery lasts more than a week.

Any difference in price between the versa 2 and fitbit 4?also I used a gift voucher to buy mine so decathlon might only give me a credit rather than money back

Hello everyone. @jim96 Welcome to the community forums. @Calysu Nice to see you around and thanks for your input.

@jim96 I'm sorry for the experience and thank you for the detailed information and for any troubleshooting steps you've tried. At this time, I'd like to let you know that the battery life of your Charge 4 can be affected by several factors. For more information about these factors and tips on how to extend it, please check: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

On a side note, please make sure that your Charge 4 is updated to the latest firmware version. The latest firmware version includes bug fixes and improvements. So, if your tracker isn't up to date, I recommend performing the update by following the instructions here: How do I update my Fitbit device?

In addition, regarding your question about the price difference between the Versa 2 and Charge 4, please check here: https://www.fitbit.com/global/uk/products

Lastly, regarding your question about if it was in the store for a year or more, I'd like to let you know that we don't have that information but it could be confirmed by Decathlon.

Hope this helps.

I’ve had two 2 charge 4’s….one lasted 11months, current one lasted only 7months ( same battery issue everyone else is having).  Custom service is useless.  They do not care about the quality of their products!    I’m done with Fitbit and going to buy an Apple Watch!

Agree, it was absolutely useless because mine could lost all power after 2 hours or so from fully charged

I'm having the same issue.

My device just stopped on Tuesday so I contacted support and we restarted it. Now, the battery drains so fast - it only lasts a couple hours. I contacted customer support this morning and it was beyond useless. They directed me to a link with no direction on what to look for. I'm beyond frustrated.

I returned mine to decathlon store where I bought it as it was under warranty for 12 months. I got a full credit for in-store purchase of anything else as I bought it with a gift voucher. But no way would I accept a replacement as they're not fit for purpose and should be withdrawn from sale
