Charge 4 not holding a charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my charge 4 for almost a year and just starting this week it will not hold a charge for more then a day.

Yesterday I charged it thinking maybe it wasn’t fully charged when I put it on in the morning. It charged all day and just before bed I checked it. It was 100% charged so I put it on and went to bed. The watch was in “sleep” mode all night but still this morning it’s was at 56% and after wearing it for a few hours it’s at 30%.
is there a battery that can be replaced??

My Charge 3 is having same problem all of the sudden the day before yesterday.  I'm wondering if it's something to do with the update on May 5th.

Exactly the same scenario here for me. I've had a charge 4 for almost a year and a half. Has worked perfectly until extremely suddenly last week.

2 weeks ago, I was charging about once a week. Now I'm lucky if the charge holds for a day.

This leads me to think it's surely software issues on fitbit's side. I talked with live chat and they were nice, but they simply told me to check my warranty. Got an email saying that I have no warranty, but don't worry! They're generous enough to give me 35% off another fitbit product. This is quite frustrating, why would I want to buy a new product if my old one suddenly stops working from issues likely on their side?

Will be contacting support more.

Same here since yesterday.

I tried resetting the band, deleting the data, swithing off notifcations, switching off heartrate monitoring, deleting the SPO2 widget, deactivating the GPS, disconnecting from bluetooth, deleting the fitbit app from my phone, reinstalling the app, reconnecting the charge 4, but nothing seems to provide a solution. 😠

The battery used to last for days, now it barely reaches 2 hours from 100% to 0%. Rendering the device unusable.

Same here!!!  I've followed all recommended "fixes" to no avail.  I Live Chatted with the person only repeating the instructions after I told them I had already done them.  Then the first time I went to submit this reply a survey appeared.  Even though I said I would complete it after I submitted the reply it took me directly to it.  I had to complete it before being able to get back to my reply.  I'm so frustrated. My daughter says to throw it away and get an Apple Watch.

@JuanFitbit Have you all looked at the potential it could be due to a firmware update?  There seem to be an excessive amount of sudden battery drainage.  It would make sense if it occurred gradually like for a while a charge is needed every 5 days, then 4 days, and so on.  My charge went to 4 days to draining rapidly.  It sounds like a lot of people are experiencing this.

Also curious, have you all considered giving people in the US a two year warranty to match European warranties?  A year does not sound like there is confidence in the product.  A 35% discount to people (especially those who have bought multiple devices and are premium members) should get a better discount then offered if the device is less than 2 years old.

@JuanFitbit Thank you for listening.  I have been using Fitbits for many years and do enjoy the technology.  My concern about the warranty and longevity is that something seems to happen after my warranty expires.  I have used iPhones for years and have never replaced due to the phone dying.  I replace when there is a new feature I would like to have so it still is every couple to few years max.  If Fitbit had the same business model, I think it would be more advantageous.

I did purchase a Charge 5 with the discount.  I had a Charge 4.  I was already considering upgrading to a Charge 5 but would have preferred it to be on my timeline and not due to a quick battery discharge.

Your reply is lame and it helpful

Not helpful. You have a serious battery problem, probably caused by an update and you aren’t addressing it. I agree with previous comment. I may just quit and get an Apple Watch.

Hello,

yes I have tried all of the battery saving things, which have not worked.

As of right now my watch is only lasting an hour or 2, so it’s not even worth using at this point.

I have had it less then a year but I am unsure when my husband got it (since it was a gift), so I am unsure about the warranty.

but if this is how Fitbit works(only lasting a year!!!) I will not be buying another one.

Same with mine. I've had it for 15 months and within a day it stopped holding charge. I'm lucky if I can get 2hrs out of it - looking at all the other comments, it doesn't look as if Fitbit are taking this seriously or wanting to do anything to sort this out - NOT acceptable!

I agree they need to improve the product and business model.  The best way to send a message is through more people posting and unfortunately some deciding to use other products.  I personally have family members who also have and use Fitbits so I am sticking around a bit longer.

I am experiencing the same issue with my Charge 4. I contacted support and was given the same information to resolve it. None of these steps have solved the issue. Obviously, there is a problem with the Charge 4. I, too, would like to stay with FitBit. But I will look at other smart watches if this problem cannot be fixed.
