Hi I got a new Charge 4 fitbit last week and it seemed to work great
Unfortunately I broke my leg 2 days ago therefore I am pretty much bedbound at the moment. I am hardly moving however fitbit is still counting loads of steps yesterday it said I did 3000 today is almost at 5000 and 2.3 miles which is definitely not the case. This then leads to overestemating calories burned which is a massive shame as I am trying to calorie count and not put weight on whilst I cannot work out.
I wear it on my non dominant wrist. Had other fitbits in the past but never had that issue.
Please let me know if and how this can be solved. Many thanks Sylwia

1) Overcounting steps does not lead to overestimating calorie burn. Calories burned are based on heart rate, not steps.
2) Steps are not directly detected by something on your wrist. Steps are only inferred from regular rhythmic movement of the arms, such as normal swinging of arms while walking. Some activities have motions that can be misinterpreted as steps, such as knitting, strumming a guitar, and petting a dog. Are you doing any such activity while bedbound?

Thank you for your reply!
1. I always thought it is the steps! How crazy, yesterday I did nothing and burned apparently 2000 cal, if I don't wear a fitbit it's around 1500.
2. Nope not doing any of these activities, maybe expect petting the dogs. We are actually traveling Europe at the moment so living in a campervan so there isn't much room for movement.
