Charge 4 says battery not charging

Hi,

The last two times I’ve been out for a run (with the Fitbit using my phone gps) after about 10 minutes I’ve got a message on the Charge 4 saying ‘battery not charging, check charger’. There’s no issue with the battery or the charger as far as I can tell as I had only just taken it off charge and it was at 100% prior to my run.  Shortly after this message I then get another saying gps not available, so I’m not able to track my route.  Everything else seems to be functioning normally.

any ideas?

I also suffering from this problem. Unfortunately, everything mentioned in the "best answer" does not work for me. I noticed this message couple of times before, but currently the problem is getting much more worse: the tracker shows this message couple times withing an hour. It runs vibration pretty randomly. Basically, currently the smartwatch runs very unstable right now and simple reset does not work anymore.

I guess, the problem might be related to hardware or the most recent firmware version....

Chronic Fitbit Charge 4 issue and unaddressed by Fitbit.  I have a Charge 2 and this NEVER happens.  My Charge 4 has acted up like this since last June, but never before then.

Hello Andrea,

Unfortunately the link you have provided goes to the main help page (https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/home) and once I click to "Get Support", I get error 404.

Unfortunately (2): the story comes to the end today. After another round of "battery not charging" messages the screen started switching on and off and now it is completely off. The smartwatch vibes once I connect it to the charger, but nothing more happened: I cannot reboot a device anymore.

I have had the same problem (ever since I got this fitbit ... for about 2 years now) -- and it is the charging cable -- it is a piece of garbage ....

And it took trying multiple USB ports with the cable (got the charging error on all of them), testing with my wife's charging cable (it worked without problem), and trying MY cable with her Fitbit (it worked without problem) ... guess I have to live with this ... it takes 5-8 times to get a decent connect with cable and USB port ... you need to improve your QA .... about to go to another vendor ;-(

Mines not a charger problem. Mine says “not “charging” when it’s on my arm.

I have always had the same problem too since I got the Charge 4. I once had it on the charger for 16 hours bc I left it on the charger at my office. I did not move it. It was charging but when I got in the next morning, it was still only at 3%. And this is the second one I have had since I first bought it 2 years ago. Worst Fitbit I've owned to date. I try to reboot it & that stupid smiley face pops up & then nothing. That face is mocking me!! I cleaned out the magnetic buttons too & still, nothing. It vibrates when I push on the side button but does not say it is doing anything (which I guess is better than the usual battery not charging message that usually appears).

Because Fitbit didn’t address this issue….and couldn’t suggest anything that would get the Fitbit to give me data on sleep (even though I had a subscription), and THEN the face became virtually impossible to read in sunlight, I chucked it completely. What a freeing experience. No more frustration!

I am this close to doing the same. It is unbelievable that Lord knows how many people can have the same problem with a product & yet the company does absolutely nothing to remedy it.
