Hi when outside I can't see the. Fitbit details on either normal or auto. How can you make the screen permanently bright?

Hello @TheresaJane
To adjust the "Brightness" setting swipe left from your charge 4 clock screen and tap "settings". The first setting you are offered is "Brightness" you can touch this to toggle between auto, dim or normal. After setting this touch the side button twice to return to the clock screen. Unfortunately these are the only three options to brighten your Charge 4. Maybe experiment with different clock faces as they might appear brighter to the eye because of font colors etc they might use. Just a thought. You can change your clock face by opening your Fitbit App, tap your profile picture, scroll down and tap Charge 5 then tap Gallery. Tap clocks at the top of your screen and maybe a different clock face might be more appealing to the eye.
😃 Please let me know if this did indeed answer your question and provide a possible alternative solution.

Thank you for your quick and comprehensive reply. It has enabled me to realise I'll have to put up with it or get a different one. Thank you for your help 🙂

Agree with your assessment. The screen is simply too dim to use outdoors--even on the brightest settings and in the shade. I have the feeling it may be worse than when I first got it, but it has always been a problem. I have to walk indoors to check the settings.

Yes @dz1234 and @TheresaJane
I would agree that the watch face is difficult to see outdoors. I too wish my Fitbit Tracker was much brighter even it it meant a a larger drain on my battery. I would much rather charge my Fitbit Tracker more often in exchange for a brighter display for sure.

My advice is to keep monitoring it and when your warranty ends. At 7 months I was having the same issues, but thought I can deal with it. It got progressively worse, at month 13 my screen went completely blank and as it was after the warranty, I was out of luck. The Support team did acknowledge that they were aware of this unexpected problem for awhile. So please don’t end up like me, all functions on my device still work, but it is useless to me because I can’t see anything. One of the fixes that they suggested was to change the clock face, maybe that will work for you. If it starts to get dimmer while indoors consider contacting Support especially if your warranty is about to end. Good luck

Mine as great when I first got it - so much so that I persuaded a number of other people to upgrade their fitbits. However, it has faded over time. Still ok (ish) indoors, but unusable outdoors - which is where I typically need it. Support insisted a dim screen was not a fault, if yours was bad from the start, then maybe try support again?
