My screen is dim even after checking all the suggestions in other threads about this issue. I have changed the settings, checked sleep mode and restarted the tracker. All made no difference.
One thing I noticed, others mentioned a bright option in settings - I only have Auto, Normal & Dim
i cannot read much of my display indoors and can’t see it at all outdoors.

Hi @daking12. Welcome to the forums.
Thank you for providing the details regarding your Charge 4.
Please confirm you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?.
If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

I’ve tried both resetting and changing the clock face.
After resetting the brightness did improve. That was last night, this
morning it is dim again - in fact it’s dimmer than before the reset. Can’t
see anything in normal light, have to go into a dark room!
Different clock face didn’t make any difference at all.
Hope you can help as I’m missing my Fitbit!! 🙂
David

Screen is getting worse, like it’s fading more and more every day. Rebooting is not helping anymore. Honestly, I cannot not use the device except for via the app.

Hi @daking12. Thanks for responding and letting me know the situation.
Since you tried the steps on your Charge 4 and they didn't work and you are still experiencing this difficulty with the screen, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.
I’ll keep an eye out for your response specifically, so please let me know once you’ve filled it out.

I think you are the only person who has contacted me via email - hoping my
issue doesn't get lost.
Who will contact me next? Via email or on the forum?
---
I have now been contacted by customer services who were at first very helpful, but now haven't heard anything for a few days. I gave details of where and when the device was purchased and as it is I assume out of warranty it feels like they can't help further - hopefully I'm wrong and just being impatient.
I now have no display at all on my Charge 4, so I can't tell the time or use any of the functions directly from the device. It charges OK and syncs to my phone so I can read steps, sleep etc in the APP. Really would like a fully working Fitbit back though, even if I have to pay for repairs.
Is there anyone on here who can chase customer support to give me an update?

I see the previous post for this was closed but sounds like it's still an issue. In the 4 years I've had my device I've never had a problem but now either the screen keeps going back to dim or as it is now, is shows normal but I can hardly read it and appears to be dim. If I do change it to dim then it's completely blank
Basically it's unusable at the moment and it must have been caused by a firmware update

This does sound similar to the issue with mine - I'll be interested to hear if you lose your screen altogether soon as I did. Seems to me like the screen has reached the end of it's life but four years does not feel like much of a life to expect to me.

Yep although back home now and it's fine, not changed anything, whereas when I was in the office with similar lighting, I struggled to see anything.

@daking12 I do every now and then lose the screen completely, like this morning I put it on charge and there was nothing. I had to use my phone to check what the charge was and it was at 63% so wasn't low.
Nothing from support, this is hopeless and looks like I'm going to have to look for an alternative and don't think I'll stick with Fitbit

My issue is resolved. However, it was done by replacing my Charge 4 with a new Charge 6 - not free but with a generous enough discount to bring it under the Amazon price. Whilst I am very happy with my new device, part of me is disappointed that my original Fitbit couldn't be fixed - it was a present from my wife so had sentimental value and four years does not seem like a great life for it. She did however pay for the new one, so maybe the value transfers?! 🙂
It's a pity one has to go through all the basic stuff first, although I do understand why it's necessary, but once the service people knew what my issue was they dealt with me in a friendly and efficient manner. Happy to start again with another Fitbit!

Mine is so hit and miss it's useless. Sat in the office here, screen unreadable but it's on normal
