Charge 4 screen is too dim

I've changed the setting to bright so it's not that!

But does the brightness of the screens decrease over the years?

I've had my Charge 4 for a few years now and it's OK indoors but outside, I really can't see the screen.

Is it natural ageing or is there something I can do?

Thanks

Hi there, @Chrg6uk. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 4 is still dim. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Have you also checked whether your Charge 4 is in sleep mode? When the sleep mode setting is on:

  • Notifications don't cause the tracker to vibrate or the screen to turn on.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • Turning your wrist won't cause the tracker’s screen to turn on.

If the above doesn't describe your issue, I'd recommend the following steps:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data.

Regarding your inquiry, note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run.
