I was a hairbreadth from switching to an Apple Watch.

My screen is pretty dark. The only time it gets lit up is when I reboot it on the charger. How were you able to see it was in sleep mode if the watch face is too dark? Even in a dark room, I can't see anything of the watch face. I have asked Fitbit for advice on how to reset it to factory settings or something like that but they provided no input.
Thanks in advance.

The same thing happened to me. I followed all directions but cannot correct. Beyond annoying. Cannot see, and seems no way to fix.

I absolutely hate the Charge 4. Hard to tell if it is charging, I can view how full the battery is, but not if it is charging without constantly checking to see if it is going up. Hard to use in the gym. Liked my old one, hate this one.

Thanks LizzhyFitbit but all attempts to solve the Charge 4 failed. Hence I got a full refund. I must be crazy but now I have a Charge 5 which only cost me $15 more after my refund. I will see if this proves a mistake. So far, I am very disappointed by the Charge 3 and Charge 4.

Hi, I have the same problem with my Charge 4, did the reboot , checked the brightness, sleep etc as recommended but has got progressively worse. I can now barely see the centre of the screen, it’s as if someone has just rubbed it out on both sides

My screen went dim after the last firmware update. I've seen all the online and forum posts. This is a common issue since the last firmware update. I've checked my Brightness setting. It's on normal. Sleep Mode is off. DND is off. I've rebooted more times than I could count the last few months. The screen is getting dimmer and dimmer. I can barely see it in an adequately lit room. It's completely blank outside, even in the shade. I accidentally set it to Dim when I was trying to fix it today. I couldn't see the screen at all. I had to go into the bathroom with the lights off to be able to barely see it. I'm thoroughly disgusted. I feel like this is a ploy to get people to upgrade to the Charge 5. I was contemplating it, since it looks like it's got great features, but I'm so disgusted with the company after the last update, I'm going to find a different brand.

Same. I wrote them and told them what I’d tried and asked for help. I got a canned cut and paste reply telling me how to do the exact things i had already told them I’d tried. I don’t think anyone even reads them.
