Charge 4 screen not working but vibrates

The screen of my fitbit Charge 4 is flat black, won't work. It vibrates when the button is pressed and the battery does charge. I tried doing the reset by pressing the button for several seconds, it does a long vibration but won't show the smiley face whatsoever. 

I also tried changing the clock face from the app and didn't work either.

I don't know what else can I do

I have exactly the same problem with my device, I posted a claim but no response so far

I have exactly the same problem, I tried rebooting it, i feel the vibration but it doesn't start

Update: I chatted with the fitbit team, followed the steps given but it didnt work, he told me  they would be sending me an email to see where is my warranty standing (long gone I think) so I asked him: that's it? not othoer solutions? and he said we tried the steps and it didnt work so it is dead 😞

Mine is doing the same as of a few hours ago.  I don’t know if warranty covers it though because it’s been over a year

I've had exactly the same problem tonight. This is the second charge 4 to do this. I've contacted fitbit & am waiting for a response. I can't reset it either ☹️

Same exact problem and Ive tried to reset clock also.

Would be great to get a solution from Fitbit sometime soon.

Same thing just happened to me. Tried all the suggested tricks but nothing works. They said I will get an email about my warranty within a day. I have had it for over a year so guarantee there is not warranty. Super disappointed.

Just managed to get it working! Had to plug it in and then hold down the side button for 8 seconds. Should do a long vibrate and then have a smiley face. Wish I knew what caused the issue though

yesterday still working fine … suddenly today it’s like hang … I can only wake up the screen but I can’t swipe at all … plugged in and hold 8sec and more to reset but it just won’t turn to smiley face … I can only feel the vibration … ;(

so many with almost the same issue so I guess it’s not the hardware but the software …. Hopefully I am right as no more warranty ;(

I wonder why no one from Fitbit is reacting? The live chat is not working so I am not sure what to do?

There should be a small gap where the button is once the charger is on. It’s pretty narrow so it’s a use your nail kind of thing

Try it for longer than 8 seconds? I had the same result the first time but I think I might not have been holding down the button properly. It’s pretty hard to get a hold of the button

I got the smiley face,  but it goes right back to black after that.  Am I supposed to do something before it disappears?

Same problem here. 

I have been trying to charge my battery for about 6 hours now. It vibrates, gives me the happy face, then does nothing. This has been a problem since day 1 of getting this Fitbit a year ago. And it is the second one I have had because the first one broke after 6 months.

While it is on the charger, and I push the side button, it vibrates but nothing appears on the screen. At least it used to tell me it wasn’t charging. Now, nothing.

I’ve restarted it numerous times. I’ve changed the USB port it is in. I gently cleaned the magnetic spots on both the band and the charger. I have tried everything and yet, still nothing.

Mine quit vibrating.  I know it was charging because it did sync and shows a 40% charge. But I no longer get vibration or smiley face.
