Hi, I am trying to set up Charge 4 for my kid who got the watch for Xmas. Is there and option to set it up under a family account? The only options on the menu is ace and ace 3. I also tried using is on email but because it is an under 13 email Fitbit app will not allow it . Not sure why there is a limit.

Shut up the BS. No one is talking about the App and a regular account for a kid under 13yr old.
We are talking about the Charge 4 being used for a kid. That is not a problem but Fitbit is ensuring that first, we parents buy an Ace for our kids, and then buy a new regular Fitbit when they turn 13. What a futuristic planning ensuring, rather than forcing customers to buy two devices for their kids. DO NOT make excuses for privacy act and other BS.

LizzyFitbit,
Stop the drama and stop giving excuses of "improving the products... etc." No one is talking about the product or apps. We are simply talking about Fitbit planning team's shameless scheme of selling two devices for children. First, forcing them to buy ACE and then buy a regular Fitbit device, ensuring regular and guaranteed revenue/profit for the company. DO NOT make excuses for this using the Kid's privacy Act.
We like Fitbit and trust the app and other technology. But we all are talking about the planning and dirty schemes of Fitbit forcing parents to buy two devices, first, ACE and then a regular device later on when kids turn 13.
DO NOT give any other BS excuse for this.

Fitbit is shamelessly ensuring that we parents buy two devices for our kids. First we HAVE to buy ACE and then when they turn 13, we buy a new device bringing extra profit for Fitbit.
Yes, we parents will not fall into this dirty business tactic but will create an account as if my kid is over 13, and then either correct the age, when they turn 13, or just open a new account altogether at that time if Fitbit won't allow that. Could you believe that just now my daughter read this and said, "That's actually smart"
phasterok, I'm sure you already did it, and I support you. I'm going to do it myself for my kid who is 10yrs.

LizzyFitbit,
We parents DO NOT want colors and flashy Kiddie drama for our kids. We parents want to track their sleep pattern, their heart rate and other health statistics so we could take necessary steps when it's needed. Why do we spend money on a device that does SO LESS than a regular device like Charge 4 that I want to use for my kid of 10yrs? DO NOT give these useless, meaningless, and insensitive excuses. They are indeed BS.

Please, phasterok,
Don't be too polite. That doesn't work with these business-minded companies. If we customers are just being polite and not raising our voice, these companies will keep ripping off money from us. "Consumer is the king." is a myth in the past. Look at Fitbit how they are ensuring that parents will buy TWO devices for their kids no matter what. What excuse they are giving? Kids privacy Act. How? When? where? As guardians, we will control their information and everything. How will that be a privacy issue? Seriously? Please, don't think that LizzyFitbit is a saint. Can't you see how shamelessly she is justifying everything for Fitbit with all stupid points of privacy act, and they welcome our feedback and continuously improve their devices, app, and other things? Who talked about the device or privacy act? We are talking about their policy. Did they change it? NO they didn't!

Perfect, Toph.
I'm gonna do the same. Create a false B'date account for my kid and then later either change the b'date (which I am 100% sure Fitbit will not allow), but who cares, my kid will create a new account altogether again!

1000% agree with you, though I wanna add..... Shameless policies by the Shameless Fitbit policy department are forcing parents to buy 2 devices for them.
Why do we buy a cheap and less-feature device? But no, they will force us to buy that now and then pay again for a regular device later on when our kids turn 13. Shameless profit-earning tactic!

Stop the lame child protection drama.
Our child's account stays under the parent's adult account. As a parent/ guardian, we control everything from making new friends to messages and everything else. How is using a device that is monitoring better and more health statistics for my child is a privacy issue? Stop the BS. Did Fitbit bribe you or something that you are advocating for them?
Moreover, if as a parent, I am okay with sharing their health statistics, etc., how is that a problem with others? And with ACE aren't we sharing some information about our kids already? How is that it is okay to share information through ACE and not with higher expensive devices? Do you even know what you are talking about? Or you just are too blind to see that Fitbit is making us buy TWO devices and bring extra-guaranteed profit for Fitbit?

Excuse me? Do you have a KID Apple Watch? No right? Kids can use a regular Apple Watch. How is that different for Fitbit? What are you talking about?

I've never used Garmin coz of it's high pricing. Interestingly even Garmin doesn't have this BS of Kid's Garmin device. hahahhaa. Kids can use any Garmin device they want. Anyway, enjoy your Garmin activity tracking 🙂
