Charge 4 shows X during the set up process

Had this Charge 4 for a few months and the Heart Rate function stopped working over the weekend.

I tried a reboot which didn't help so I tried a Factory Reset which also did not help and in addition it would not sync. The fitbit.con/setup icon is now on the display so I tried to run the Setup process and after I enter the code I see an X on the display and it stops responding. Anyone seen this?

Thanks for your efforts while troubleshooting your Charge 4, I'm sorry that you're going through this experience. While you've tried some steps, please give a try to the following in the given order:

  1. On the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Charge 4 and remove the tracker.
  2. Remove your Charge 4 from the Bluetooth settings.
  3. Force stop the Fitbit app on your phone.
  4. Reboot your phone and restart your tracker.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  6. Select your Charge 4 and follow the onscreen instructions.

this does not work, it continues to show X no matter how many times I try 😞
