Charge 4 stopped tracking my health metrics data

Fitbit Charge 4 which has stopped giving me any data/metrics, in the last two days.
I have done a system reboot and it gives me text and phone call notifications but no sleep, step or heart data.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hello there, @AMX1108. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 4 before reaching out.

Please take into consideration the following information in order to get your health metrics data:

  • Wear your device for at least 1 full day (during the day and to sleep at night). Check your stats after you wake up in the morning. Note: skin temperature requires 3 nights of data.
  • Make sure the back of your device is in contact with your skin. The band should be snug but not constricting. If you experience any discomfort, loosen the band, and if it persists give your wrist a break by taking it off.
  • Most metrics require at least 3 hours of quality sleep. If you move a lot during your sleep or the sleep session is too short, you might not get a reading.
  • To track your blood oxygen saturation, confirm you have an SpO2 clock face installed. For more information, see How do I track blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) with my Fitbit device?

I've not gotten data for my activities for the last couple of days. No distance, heart rate...only time and calories. I reached out and was told to Uninstall and the reinstall the app, but nothing changed.

MarreFitbit, your guesses about the potential causes are reasonable but I have occasionally seen the same problems appear and then disappear later on after a few hours.  Typically the Fitbit says that it is syncing the data and the Health Metrics is pretty much nothing but after a few hours I can check again and everything is normal.  That suggests that the "problem" was not the Charge data collection but was a result of some data processing issues at the Fitbit server end.

Another problem I've seen today was starting to walk on a treadmill at 3.5mph when the Charge4 showed that I had done about 9,800 steps, after walking at 3.5mph for 5 minutes the Android phone app just stalled at 9,994 steps for about another 5 minutes and then suddenly changed from 9,994 steps to 10,0090 steps ... so walking at 3.5mph for five minutes only resulted in the Fitbit processing recording 96 steps!  I suggest that the Fitbit folk like you look at everyone's data at the 10,000 steps level, it's probably stupidly recording everyone as "stopping" just before they hit the 10,000 steps landmark and then starting to walk again five minutes later.  LOL, LOL, LOL

Artful1, maybe the Fitbit is just a little too loose on your wrist, try sleeping with it tied a bit tighter, also shave off any hair on your wrist.  Also try switching it to our other wrist too, just try some alternatives to try and see what's happening.

Everything stopped in terms of data on 5/24. My fitbit updates automatically, so I believe there's a glitch with the update that just came out...support told me as much and had me uninstall and reinstall, but nothing was fixed. I need my data back. How do I revert to the previous version?

I’m having the same issue.  I have not been able to sync my Charge 4 since Tuesday May 23, 2023.  It just gets hung up and never finishing syncing.  Please advise how to fix this apparent glitch.

Mine is the same.  I hadn’t done the latest update yet.  I thought maybe that was the issue. I downloaded the app update and still not syncing.
