Charge 4 stopped tracking my steps and floors

After latest update first the stairs stopped registering then the steps are not registering as well. Steps register if I don't wear the watch  ie. Carry it in my hand! 

Have recharged and rebooted watch several times as per instructions to no avail. 

At a loss what to do next ?

Problem still unresolved. Tried the chat and they said they would email me with a solution but so far no contact.
