Charge 4 suddenly giving highly inaccurate HR readings

Ive had my charge 4 for like 3 years now and its suddenly giving me inaccurate HR readings. Like really inaccurate. Ive been able to confirm this as i have 2 pulse oximeters in the house that i checked while my fitbit went into these episodes.

For example tonight i was sitting down on my computer working and my fitbit said my HR was bouncing between bpm, i could tell that wasnt right as i checked my own pulse manually. But to be sure i grabbed both oximeters and they confirmed my pulse was about bpm. It’s interesting cause it’ll read high but then go back to normal in a few minutes then back to reading high

This thing finally going out you guys think? This has just started happening suddenly today within the last 8 hours. Really sucks as i wont be able to get another smartwatch for a little while since im broke right now.

I also just has a 48 hour holter monitor 4 weeks ago which confirmed my average heartrate is 69bpm, so i know for a fact its acting up

Welcome to the community forums @donebgot.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding your Charge 4. Sorry to know the difficulty that you are experiencing. There are multiple factors that impact the heart rate reading and to make sure those don't apply to you, please take a look to this help article.

Once that is done, I'd recommend to try the following steps:

  1. On your Charge 4, swipe to the left to open settings.
  2. Scroll down to find heart rate and turn it off.
  3. Restart your tracker as described here.
  4. Turn back on the heart rate settings.
  5. Wear your tracker on your wrist and keep an eye on it.
