Hello there,
I'm pretty new in this Fitbit family and so far i really like the tracker (Charge 4) and the app as well. It's very useful, especially for GPS Tracking where i went on a walk with my girlfriend.
So there's still this problem : We walk at least 10,000 steps daily and i use Fitbit and MyFitnessPal to track my "training" and diet on a daily basis. I got the FB app connected to MFP so that the burned calories are calculated into my daily diet calorie intake.
A month ago i weighed in at 90kg and bought the Charge 4 to walk more often and lose weight by knowing how many calories i can still eat in the rest of the day.
I trusted Fitbits calorie burn and what can i say - one month later i'm at 90kg still.
My issue is that the Fitbit Tracker/App seems to be a little too generous with my calorie burning.
A little info about me :
Age : 26
Height : 173cm
Weight : 90kg
For example : we walked 43 min this morning and fitbit tells me that for these 4,400 steps that i burned 427 kcal.
Before the mods post the same answer i read in the other topics that didn't give me correct advice :
- I'm wearing my tracker perfectly positioned on my wrist
- I reset the tracker a bunch of times
- I know that my overweight body produces a higher heart rate while just walking, still every other site/app/service gives me about half of these burned calories with the same exact data.
I don't really want to manually divide everything Fitbit gives me by 2 and then calculate my MFP intake. Is there any way to fix this In-App or anything?
Thanks for the help in advance and sorry for weird wording sometimes, i tried to do it in my best english 🙂

@Yunaz , Nice to see you here. Thank you for taking the time to check the Community beforehand.
Fitbit devices combine your basal metabolic rate (BMR)—the rate at which you burn calories at rest to maintain vital body functions (including breathing, blood circulation, and heartbeat)—and your activity data to estimate your calories burned. If your device tracks heart rate, your heart-rate data is also included, especially to estimate calories burned during exercise. The number you see on your Fitbit device is your total calories burned for the day.
Your BMR is based on the physical data you entered in to your Fitbit account (height, weight, sex, and age) and accounts for at least half the calories you burn in a day. Because your body burns calories even if you’re asleep or not moving, you see calories burned on your device when you wake up and will notice this number increase throughout the day.
So, taking into consideration that the BMR is also included this might help you with your program.
Also I suggest you to have a look at this, if you want to achieve your weight goals. What's a food plan in the Fitbit app?
Hope this helps.
