Charge 4 wildly inaccurate on pulse rate.

My Charge 4 is quite accurate on resting heart rate but is wildly out as soon as my pulse rate increases.  It will be happily recording in the 50s while I am seated but as soon as I move it it increases way above my actual heart rate.  It carries on increasing even when I have stopped moving and takes a while to come back down.  I have checked it against a Garmin chest monitor and timed it against my watch.  Both of these are in close agreement but the Charge 4 is much, much higher.  Simply out for a walk, it will often reach 120 plus, when my actual pulse rate has barely reached 70.  The little heart symbol on the display is clearly flashing at twice the rate of my actual pulse.  I wear it playing squash but can't really believe anything it tells me.  I have tried the re-set suggested and have tried it in various positions, none of which seems to correct it.  Is there anything else I can do or is it junk?

Yeah, unfortunately that's the way it works. I wouldn't call it junk, but for working/active HR, it's quite inaccurate. For my workouts I use a chest strap transmitter and my Garmin watch. That said, the resting HR function works well (I compare it to a manual count to check accuracy) and the sleep app is great, so those features for me justify the premium membership and pretty inaccurate HR monitoring. Oddly, the aggregate data after a workout often isn't too far off the chest strap-based data, but from moment to moment that's not too helpful.

Thanks for the response.  I find the resting pulse measurement good and, like you, I find the aggregate data pretty close and the sleep app good.  Cheers.
