Charge 4 will only display a smiley face

My charge 4 was dead, and I noticed that GPS was turned on.  So I charged it and now I just get buzzing and a smiley face.

@dadams14 , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message. 

Please make sure that the Charge 4 is well positioned into the charging cable. Maybe the clasp is pressing the button unintentionally. 

Then take the Charge 4 out and clean the contacts of the tracker and charging cable with a clean dry q-tip
Plug the Charge 4 again to charge.

I  refuses to charge any more. I have given up

I did contact support and they informed me I need to buy another
fitbit.  This is my 3rd one in 8 years.  I think, I  lost track of time.

I want to keep using fitbit, but it is getting expensive.
