Hi @Smer you tried what?

Is your tracker still connected to your fitbit account?

We do not pair a fitbit to Bluetooth.. We setup the tracker through the fitbit app, then the fitbit app will do the pairinf/connecting.

First i would remove the tracker from the trusted Bluetooth devices.

Now open the fitbit app, and follow the prompts.

Tried this and it didn’t work. It paired but then after I put in the code
and it trilled to connect it just circles. The Fitbit device says to
download or update the app. I have the app downloaded and there are no
updates available.

Sadly, they said there was nothing they could do for me. When referred to
the warranty department they said I was out of warranty and gave me a link
to buy a new one. Pretty crappy customer service. I’m looking at different
brands of trackers. Sad to think of leaving Fitbit but I want to work with
a company that is more responsive to its customers needs.

Oh no 🙈 I’m having the same issues after letting my Fitbit sit uncharged for over a week. No it won’t sync or be recognised by the app and the message is like yours

Exact same issue - my Charge 4 now won't sync. I've followed all of the steps already mentioned, and I've spent hours disconnecting, reconnecting, updating etc. but it gets as far as me entering the 4 digits into the app, but then it just will not connect.

As a test I tried to connect to the Charge straight from the bluetooth settings - it won't connect (say 'Use the app') but it DOES find it. So the Charge is visible via Bluetooth, but the app won't connect to it.

I read somewhere that it's possibly the version of Android (version 9 is what I read) that's causing the issue? However, my Huawei P20 Pro doesn't show me the version of Android that I'm running - it'll be an older version, but I don't know which one. And my Charge WAS previously syncing, so why has it suddenly stopped?

After much time spent rebooting, re-adding the app, resetting the Bluetooth, switching everything off then switching it all back on again etc. I tried a different device - I added the app to my tablet, then set up the Charge 4 on that. It still took nearly 10 minutes to connect, after I'd added the 4 digit code, but at least it synced. Out of curiosity, I then tried to connect the Charge 4 with the app on my phone and viola! It connected!

So about 4 hours of my life I'll never get back, but it is at least working now, even though I've lost a week of data.

Sadly when I reached out to Fitbit about my issue they told me my warranty
was expired and I would need to buy a new one. I am now an Apple Watch user
and it was well worth the extra money. Good luck to you!

Please be aware that your tracker is a BT low energy device and you will not be able to connect directly to your phones Bluetooth.

You app has to see the tracker, then your app will ask for permission to connect.

See

Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Among these steps I would also (try a sync after each step. Next time I would start with the step that worked)

  • Make sure any other tablet/pbone that you synced through, is off, or at least its Bluetooth is off
  • Remove tracker from phones Bluetooth.
  • Clear the fitbit apps cache
  • Stop the fitbit app
  • Restart phone, this will also clear the BT Cache
  • Turn off the phone and if possible, the tracker. This will restart hardware, w ick a restart may not.
