So my Charge 4 has been struggling to sync to my android phone app for a while now. I've been trying to resolve this by repeatedly:
Force quitting the app
Rebooting the phone
Turning the Bluetooth off and on again
Which usually will eventually result in it syncing. This takes up to half an hour, which is super frustrating.
Today I decided to unpair the Charge from the app, remove it from my phone's list of Bluetooth paired devices, delete the app, reinstall the app and try re-pairing the Charge. Hoping that this would fix the issue.
Nope. Tried to pair about 15 times now, following the original set-up instructions exactly. Every time I put the 4 digit code in, it says it's trying to connect and doesn't get any further than this screen. Message says "Sorry, the setup is taking longer than usual. Please be patient. We're on it!"
Any suggestions?
Update: Just to be clear - I am very patient, but after half an hour, the Charge screen just pops up a big X in a circle.

Thank you - clearing my data worked and it paired with no problems after that. Syncing issue remains, but that seems to be a general problem with the Charge 4. Thanks anyway!

I honestly think having to jump thru hoops to get our devices to work is ridiculous - - since it is clearly an app issue. I have the updated app . I went thru all those measures suggested just two weeks ago. Lost three days of data in the process. And yet here we are again. A lot of crap for a 220.00 device. I should have gone with the Garmin.
Please fix this!!!!!

I have the same problem with my charge4. It will not maintain a Bluetooth connection..I have repeatedly reconnected but it continues to lose the connection. Yes, I have also done the factory reset but the problem keeps returning. Any other ideas or is it too tired to fix it?

I had this exact problem and this fixed it, thanks. If the Fitbit device/app SW code was better designed, this wouldn't be necessary. Maybe that's per design, because non-technical users might buy a new one. Sure hope that's not the marketing plan. 😕

I’ve been having the same problems for 2 days. Fitbit app and my iPhone wouldn’t sync.
Force restarted phone and device. Didn’t work.
Unpaired Charge 4 to phone. Nothing.
Then I removed the charge 4 from my account and when I tried to add it again it the app would not accept the code on the Charge 4 screen.
I then did the factory reset you described and it refuses to add the Charge 4 to my account.
Now my Charge 4 is a useless armband that does nothing.
Please help me.

I'm in the same boat as of this morning, I got data from yesterday synced, but I can't get today's to sync. I got frustrated and unpaired my device from my android phone and cannot get it to repair. I've followed the rest of the help steps short of factory resetting the device because I've seen the issues banner at the top of the forum. Would really love to know where to get updates from, because my Fitbit is telling me that I need to download or update the app and there aren't any updates available for my app.

I just updated my charge 4 and the screen is looking normal now. I will wait until tomorrow to see if the sleep function works, too.
