Charge 4 won't read my husband's sleep score but it does mine

So my husband has had his Fitbit for a year or so and would obsessively track his sleep score, but for about a month now it's not working at all, he's done some of the trouble shooting so I told him it's probably just wore out, and that I would wear it to sleep and it won't track my score either, to show him it's just broken but it did! I got a sleep score! He hasn't changed anything about how he wears it so I'm pretty confused about what it might possibly be? Why would it track my sleep and not his? Any ideas?

Hi there, @Troy81. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your sleep data.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

For more insights into your sleep score, then yes, you'll need to purchase a Fitbit Premium subscription. For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit Premium?

Hi there, @lolit6. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your husband's Charge 4.

Please note the sleep data is calculated also by heart rate, have you guys checked how his heart rate readings are during the day? Nevertheless, please note there are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Additionally, please see What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?
