Charge 4 won't stay connected to GPS

Very often, more than 50% of the time, the Charge 4 has "lost GPS connectivity" part way through a bike ride or hike.  When biking, the Charge 4 is about 8 inches from my iPhone mounted on the handlebars.  I have location access set to "while using the app" on my phone.  I've been using a bike ride specific app also, but this is frustrating.  About ready to get the dreaded Apple watch.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried to use the inbuilt GPS instead?

I have this problem and had to check the settings to see what my Charge 4 was set to. Mine is on built-in gps, do you know if it should be set to phone GPS or dynamic instead for the best functionality?
