Charge 4 won't sync to my phone

This is now beyond a joke. My Charge 4 never syncs. Pretty much any time I've done anything active I check and find it lst synced sometime the previous day. Switching Bluetooth off and on, forcing the app to stop doesn't work. Restarting my phone sometimes works, restarting my Fitbit sometimes works, but this week that didn't so had to uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit and it app finally did.

I shouldn't have to go to these lengths everytime I want to update my fitness data. Also, this means my device isn't alerting me to phone calls which I need in noisy fitness classes when I'm on call for work. If I don't get some resolution I will have to get a refund.

I'm having the same problem, so I uninstalled Fitbit on my phone, and now it won't reinstall. I get to a message that says "Fitbit will be installed soon." but nothing ever happens. Cleared caches, turned my phone off and on... I can't even get back to my original problem of the Fitbit not synching to my phone.

Hi there, @SPolaski. Welcome on board. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot this issue before posting here.

Please note the minimum Android operating system for Fitbit devices is 8. You won't find the Fitbit app anywhere unless you already had it downloaded previously on your phone. With almost every electronic device, the operating system is constantly being developed. As Fitbit tries to keep to speed with the newest software available, it's difficult to have older app versions, as with older operating system the security measures are not reliable anymore.

My operating system is Android 8.0.0. "Software updates" on my phone says "Your device is up to date." When I go to the online Google Play store, it says "this app is available for your device" and shows my device to approve, before giving me that weird error message "Fitbit will be installed on your device soon."
I'm trying to update another app on my phone that also won't update and gives me the same message, so it may be my phone or Play store, not just the Fitbit app.
Thank you for your response. Getting actual help online is rare these days.

I have had the same problem for years, but found a work-around that is counter-intuitive. Every time I open up the fitbit app, it makes a pairing request. I hit cancel instead of pair. If I do that, it continues to sync with my phone--though I don't receive my text messages on my charge. If I accept the pairing request, it may work for a while (and I will get my text messages over that time), but it will stop pairing with my phone shortly. To get it to pair again, I have to reset the fitbit. So my advice is to never accept the pairing request--hope that helps.

By the way, fitbit moderators--this has been going on for years (2 different phones and the same problem) and I am amazed that it still isn't fixed. I tried accepting the pairing again last week and the problem is still there. I don't really care about not receiving messages on my charge 4 (the text is too small to read anyway), but this really should have been fixed by now.
