Hi,
I got the charge 4 today! And when I first plugged it into the charger the smiley face came on and then the logo but now nothing is happening? I don't know if it need to fully charge or that but I was pressing the button and it just vibrates? Any help is appreciated!

If you have seen the smiley face, then your tracker has turned on.
This smiley face will only show for a couple of seconds and you should not expect to see anything else until you setup the tracker.
My thought would be to open the Fitbit app up and setup the tracker.

Yeah I got sorted thank god! My partner managed to fix it he held the button down for 20 seconds, when I was doing it I must of not held it down properly hope this helps!

Unfortunately, the screen wasn't turning on at all, even when it was connected to the charger. I found a solution though deep in some other forum.

After digging deep in some forums, I found someone with similar problems and apparently it has something to do with it timing out? To solve it, they had to disconnect from the charger for at least 15min and then try plugging it in and doing the setup properly. I did that and it is now working again.

just got my 4 yesterday, doens't work, button won't even push in to turn on. Fully charged, smiley face intially came on, but now won't do anything. only get error codes when I log on to set it up. Guess I'll have to return

This happened to me! Screen is totally blank but my app is showing that it’s fully charged.

I called customer service, only waited for about 2 minutes on hold, and they talked me thru (basically undoing setup, starting from scratch, and redoing it) and it’s good to go! In less than 15 minutes. For some reason the setup didn’t complete last night but it did today. Super friendly tech support! So happy I don’t have to return.

Hope your fix will work for me. Please tell me what it is! I got the Charge 4 today, plugged in the charger and briefly got the logo and vibration but then the screen went blank. Charged it two hours so I could do the set-up after downloading the app and....nothing. Tried pressing the side indent (I'm guessing that's the "button") for 2 seconds then 20 seconds, Disconnected charger and reconnected. Took FitBit off the charger. Back on the çharger. Plugged in charger. And - nothing on the Fitbit. Screen stays blank. Can't set-up. Can't connect to anything. I'm at a loss. Help!

What many people don't realize is that the button is inductive. Meaning it is not a physical button you can press down on. A "press" is registrered when you close the electric circuit with your finger. I.e. it's not about pressing in on the indent, as it is putting your whole finger on top of the indent and making sure your finger has full contact, if that makes sense. That was what worked for me anyway. Also, it is more like 20 seconds to turn it on/off, rather than 10 seconds.

Hi Caitlin
I got the same trouble with my charge 4.
Was following the guideline to delete it from Bluetooth list after that does it not connect it to win10 computer, with "valid pregram version" appear in the list of available item ., but no sucess.
The unit shows like for you only happy smile after 10 sec, the is fitbit logo with txt www.fitbit.com/setup shown.
