I absolutely love my charge 4 and never had any issue with it. It was perfectly fine until the wristband connector broken whilst getting dressed!!!

Is it covered by the warranty? The store I bought it from claims not. I have never dropped it or misused it in any way for it to break. I was putting on a sweatshirt and snap it broke.

Thank you I will check into that yeah really disappointing is that mine broke it’s not like the band broke that’s the main Fitbit piece that broke off I do believe it is a defect and they should honor us with new ones or at least a better discount than 30% off right again

How do I get the get with customer support. I have been trying to contact support team to raise the issue with my charge 4 I bought in August,2021. The wrist band broker earlier this year on its own.

Mine was 2 months out of warranty as well.....Fitbit support offered me a 35% discount if I bought a new fitbit.....I will never give them any of my hard earned dollars if they can't stand behind their product. There are lots of other products on the market.

Thanks for that reply.....I will try that option too. I am ordering 2 because i am sure my husband's will break soon too.....At that point I can figure out what product to replace these with....NOT a FITBIT....

Mine broke after 1 year and 13 days, and their response: Here's 30% off. Why am I being punished for the bad craftsmanship of your product? So infuriating.

It’s a terrible club to be apart of but welcome to it. Hope you’re able to find a better alternative out there that fits your needs.

I had the same response. Mine lasted 16 months. I used it very lightly and even took it off before showering and it still broke. I was offered a 35% discount.

For a $150 device to last 16 months, and then offered a 35% discount is ridiculous. If I were to get a Charge 5 with the discount, I essentially would have paid $250 for two devices that I no longer trust to last over a year.

From a customer experience perspective, your product just spectacularly failed with minimal usage and you're giving me a discount on giving you more money on products that you don't stand by and I no longer trust. It makes me feel like they think I'm a sucker.

I superglued my band on….not ideal, but it’s working for now.
I’ve been using Fitbit since 2013. The fact that they KNOW the product is defective, yet refuse to replace it is so disappointing.

  • The same thing happened to mine. How do we contact customer support to inquire about a replacement?

They do not stock or supply parts for repair. If you are under warranty you may have some luck but may find they only offer a reduced percentage that can be used towards another purchase.

Check online and you can find a fix for less than $10, without going through the hassle with Fitbit. Here is a link to what we ordered as a fix and it works fine.

Thank you so much for that link. I have ordered something similar. I’ll get it tomorrow. I ordered two because my husbands is likely to break soon as well

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if there are any others that work that aren’t so chunky? The metal mesh ones needs the connector, don’t they?

All the bands that I have seen as a fix for this problem are all chunky and unfashionable but they solve the problem and I can still use my Fitbit. The mesh ones do need a connector. The bands that work are one piece where the pebble is incased in the center section. Good luck

Obviously a manufacturing defect. Look how many complaints on the "just at the 2 year mark." Mine broke 7 days outside of the extended warranty.

My wristband connector broke yesterday…From all the posts I read seems that Fitbit does not stand by its product.   I have been a Fitbit customer and user for a long time.  At least since 2010…My first Fitbit was a waist steps tracker and it worked well for years….but then they stopped supporting it.  I had at least 3 Fitbit devices after that initial one….seems like the quality gets lower and lower and the lifetime of the Fitbit devices get shorter and shorter…and it’s not getting better since Fitbit is a google company…think it’s time to jump the fence and join the competition…
