I absolutely love my charge 4 and never had any issue with it. It was perfectly fine until the wristband connector broken whilst getting dressed!!!
Is it covered by the warranty? The store I bought it from claims not. I have never dropped it or misused it in any way for it to break. I was putting on a sweatshirt and snap it broke.

It doesn’t make sense that the band is interfering, knowing that the Charge 4 has many hiccups I think it’s the device. Try this, and see if it helps. I bought the Supcase, but I really don’t think it’s your band. Fingers crossed that it solves your problem.
If your tracker starts recording your heart rate correctly, wear your tracker 2-3 finger widths above my wrist bone to bed and sync with the Fitbit app once you're awake to check your details.

I have the same problem, my charge 4 is out of warranty and the connection to the bracelet is broken without me doing anything out of the ordinary to break down. I sent a message to costumer support, but no reply as per yet.
I hope they can find a solution for it!
Thanks

Can you advise how to get such connetor replaced when there is no warranty (so claim gets rejected)?

I will give that a try - thank you. At this point I am just trying to stretch and buy myself some time before purchasing something else. Keep you posted on my success- its on the charger tonight. Do you have to remove yours from the band to charge it now?
if you are US based and it's more than 12 months the solution will be an abysmal discount on a new one. included, but not advertised will be you taking a chance at a repeat on a different model
hope that isn't the case for you
sorry Ko-Ko that would make the most sense. probably way too costly of a design flaw for them
yes see some of the images above. not great but if you're in a financial strap it will do the trick

I'm curious--as people discover this thread--has fitbit fixed this problem or are they continuing to sell the same defective product? For those of you encountering the problem, when did you purchase?

They have stopped making the Charge 4, but since they never recalled the device they are still available at retailers. Also, there is no place to leave a product review to warn potential buyers, so they buy. From what I have read on the Charge 5 forum they changed the locking mechanism but are having an issue with that also. People are complaining that it disconnects without them knowing and many have lost their watch!

My Charge 4 band connector came apart last week as well. I just bought in October from Best Buy. I never had a this issue with my prior Fitbits. Can I get it replaced?

LenBird, I believe the US warranty is one year from purchase and it looks like some global folks are 2 years. You will have to bring it up to fitbit but sounds like you might be covered? Most of us appear to average 13-15 months when it breaks

All - by way of update, I received a response from support to my question “why would I buy another?” Response was basically “sorry you feel that way. Policy”. I suppose not surprising their policy is to not replace - with the number of devices failing at 13-15 months that would be expensive. But it does mean they lost a customer.
suggestions :
- check with your credit card company for extended warranty
- check charge 5 community (or for other devices) before purchasing another Fitbit product. As others have said, there are issues with connectors on charge 5 as well
- I sure wish reviews had flagged this issue. I am going to try to provide information to other potential buyers so they can make an informed decision about whether they want to essentially lease a watch for a year for about $140

Hi EdsonFitbit,
All I really need to know is where can I purchase the connectors that broke off of my wife’s Fitbit Charge 4 so I can replace them. I That is all I’m asking for.
With the number of issues reported I thought maybe there would be a link provided on where/how to get the connectors. The online help only had certain topics to choose from. I will try calling tomorrow.
I did search online and found one website that had the exact connector @ $25 for one connector, but they were out of stock. When I searched Amazon the connectors were not the same and only looked like a temporary fix.
Thank you for any other assistance that can be provided.

Fitbit does not sell replacement parts for their devices. I do not know of any place that does. At one time Joe’s Gaming & Electonics offered a repair service & parts for Fitbits, I don’t know if they still do. I guess if you’re handy you could buy a used one on EBay that is being sold for parts only and take the part off to replace the broken one. What myself and others have done is to buy a replacement band from Amazon that is made to secure the pebble without the connectors. The brand names of some are Supcase, Goseth, Saufly & Kakurookie and are priced from $7.99-$16.99. Good luck

Yeah, Joe’s still has some parts. They were out of stock on the connectors and wanted $25 for one. Anyway, I have been on Amazon and looked through various bands w/cases. Not the best looking but is definitely the best alternative. I also looked on Etsy Wednesday and saw a few I could buy for parts but I’ll just go with one of the cases w/bands.
Thanks for the tips.
