Charge HR battery dies within 1 day

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Charge HR that the bcattery dies within 1 day! Frustruating that the original one i purchased the band broke within the warrenty period. With no abuse and not wearing in water. Contact Fitbit and they send a replacement. Only to have this one not last a couple of months.

The battery dies within a day!! Again no abuse or water, so it should not be dying so quickly. Let it fully drain and did not use for weeks, charged it yesterday and it is low battery alresdy!

Contacted Fitbit and they said too bad you are out of warrenty time and we sent 1 replacement for the band issue. But we will discount a new one. Like I am going to jump on that and get another defective one and be in the same boat.

So frustrating and dissapointed.

I started using a brand new Charge HR that my grandson received as a replacement but never took out for over a year,  I bought grandkids Apple watches so he didn't need it.

Anyway the first 3 or 4 days the battery would only last a day and i would recharge with the USB on the computer.

Now, today the band is on the 3rd day of a charge and says its at medium.

Mine is doing the same. If someone asked me if I would recommend the Charge HR. No it appers to be a waste of money! So dissapointed with the money spent only to be NO GOOD!

Hello again @Peteysmom09 and @Hennesbe welcome to this thread. Smiley Happy

@Peteysmom09 thank you for trying the troubleshooting I suggested above and also for providing your comments about this tracker. All the feedback is well received since it make us grow and continue building our products and services.

@Hennesbe well, actually I have an 18 months old Fitbit Charge and the battery is working perfectly, it last 7 - 8 days. As a friendly reminder, here are some tips that can help you improve the battery life of your Charge HR:

  • We recommend plugging charging cables into a USB port on a computer or other low-energy device.
  • If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger.
  • Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge.
  • Only use the official Fitbit branded charging cable that came with your tracker.
  • Leaving a tracker on a charger for an extended period of time is ok to do. We have extensive testing that prove that battery life is not negatively affected with extended charging periods.
  • Don't charge your tracker in extreme heat or cold.
  • If you use the Fitbit app, make sure All-Day Sync is turned off. All-Day Sync increases battery drain on both your tracker and mobile device.
  • If you have many silent alarms set, consider deleting some. Each alarm you add up to the maximum of 8 reduces battery life by a small percentage.

See you around my friends!

Ugh, this is me just now. My wont hold a charge either. So my choice is to charge it at night and not track my sleep (which I dont care too much about) but the fact that I have to turn off all the features I wanted hence why I bought it, is ridiculous.

I'm having the same issue and I've tried everything and still only lasting 1 day.

Having the exact same issue.  Just got a Charge HR as a birthday gift, but can't get the battery to last more than 1 day even with full charge.  I haven't even set up any alarms or anything yet.  Beyond frustrating, as it's rendered the device essentially pointless.  Such a shame.

Mine also works fine. The battery is starting to wear down and I now get 3-4 days of use from my 2 year old fitbit. I am purchasing a replacement battery for it. I don't recommend this for everybody since it requires soldering in the new battery. I have done many similar procedures like this. I am an AV/IT tech with many years of soldering circuit board experience. For me a new $11 battery will save me $$$$ over buying a new one. Other than that my Charge HR works like a champ!! Cheers

Try a reset (plug it into charge cable on your computer and hold down the button for 10 to 12 seconds until you see the FitBit logo - this is a full reset. Then check if you need to update the firmware.  Doing these steps will get you up and running as new.

do a full reset - that works.

I have had nothing but battery issues with the charge 2.  They have sent Four -Yes Four - replacements and none have been any better.  My current one will last two days if I'm lucky.

Every email interaction with them has been "Your doing it wrong"  I am considering cleaning up and posting my last string of emails concerning my problems.  They are a bit funny - if you like sardonic humor.

All said I will never be spending money on a fitbit product again.

I thought my Agree Agree Agree reply was to a specific person, but in case it is not...

I too am frustrated at it not holding a charge.  My info said it would stay charged for 5 days. Pfft!  Oh, to make it last longer, just turn everything off. So, why again do I want this product?  I want to track sleep and exercise/steps.  Oh, and tell time and wake to silent alarm.   So, when can I afford to charge it for 2 hours every day? Now, it completely ran out of battery and I have to reset time.  I can’t even find how to do that.  I with the rest of you-Fitbit not recommended.

My new Fitbit hr arrived Friday. Battery said it was full. Was flat within hours. So I charged it. Battery lasted a few hours. Charged it again and within an hour it’s flat. It’s brand new!  Surely this isn’t supposed to lose charge so fast
