Hi all,
I just got a brand new Charge HR yesterday. It's and extra one that my mom had laying around so she gave it to me. I took it out of the package, charged it and completed setup but when I woke up this morning it was already giving me low battery notifications.
When I took it off the charger last night it was full, and not even 8 hours later it is dead. Did I just get a bad Fitbit or did I do something wrong?

I don’t have an answer but I’m having same problem. I bought two of these at Christmas and I decided to use one since no one else is.
Will not keep a charge.

I don't have the answer either, but I'm currently experiencing the same thing... I bought a Fitbit Charger HR on Monday night, brought home and charged it fully, put it on and then shortly after, went to bed. By morning, it was dead. Charged it again, it showed fully charged, unplugged it and it immediately went to 50% charge. I took it back Tuesday afternoon, got another Charge HR, came home and charged it fully and now, this morning (Wednesday) it's completely dead too.

Batteries die. They start aging from the time they were manufactured and will eventually die. Anyone who works with rechargeable tools knows that they have a lifespan on their battery. Go to a used merchandise store and you will see lots of battery operated power tools there. Dont buy one, you can bet the battery no longer holds a charge.
The expected lifespan on a LI-ION battery, such as in fitbits, is 2-3 years. The ideal would be to make the battery easily user-replaceable but that would add costs to the manufacture of the unit. Its cheaper to make them disposable units and bet on people getting hooked on using fitness trackers so they will buy a new one.

Recovery Runner,
Would you have any idea what the shelf-life is of a Li-Ion battery for a FitBit would be? My current Charge HR is "new" but was probably manufactured a couple of years ago. It holds a charge only two days. When it dies I am not going to get another Charge HR, even though eBay will probably still be selling them. I have a Charge 2 that I never could get set-up on Windows 7. It's been in a drawer about two years. I'm wondering if I might actually get some use out of it.
CyberPower actually provides data on the Li-Ion batteries for their UPS systems. They say the batteries should last 3 years in use and 5 years sitting on the shelf. Obviously these are MUCH bigger batteries. But it still makes me feel like saving the Charge 2 until I can't buy a replacement Charge HR probably just meant I wasted the money I spent on the Charge 2.
